Chaos Spawn

Heres my opinion

Lets say your facing off against Marneus Calgar and hes been killing your dudes.

If you turn him into a spawn he will no longer be able kill your dudes because he is

1: On your side

2: A weak useless creature

Isn't it worth seeing the look on your opponents face?

Thats another good example of why it's a useful power. Even if you gain and lose a KP, you've removed a character that could potentially wipe out entire units almost single handedly or cripple them beyond usefulness, thus giving your opponents more KPs. I'd rather sacrifice a KP to cripple part of my enemys hitting power than watch said power decimate my own units.

Yep, its a decent killy power, and you don't ever have to sacrifice a KP. You are never FORCED to replace the model you used GOC on with a spawn; its just an option allowed if you want to do so an have the model at hand. If you are worried about KPs, just use GoC and then don't put down a spawn model.

Oh yea hes right, I totally forgot abuot that. I would still of course use the spawn in non-KP scenarios, but in KP scenarios your probably better off not using the spawn at all.

Therefore, if we have the chance to achieve this in a potentially devastating way; what calculator will tell us this is bad, when you yourself advocate HQ's are vital for being efficient at killing?

and cheap . hqs are counter units they always die . troops is whats have to alive at the end of the game. a lash prince does his thing and dies turn 3. a lord or khan does the same in most cases , because if your opponent cant kill him then he probablly doesnt have enough fire power/choppiness to take out the rest of the army too.

You on one hand see this game as nothing but mathematics to earn some delicious tournament prize

if only my friends could see that. am horrible at math and while I see tournament games as better [for me] because of the tougher opponents and better players , am rather seen as a fluff head here[and yes that is an insult here].

Hopefully you'll also see that many people that seem counter to your way of life are extending the same courtesy.

well Its not like I dont see inefficient build armies , I do .and I also understand that UK and US does play in a different way , but it , if that way of playing is to survive options like oblits /lash etc would be banned or non existen in the dex. sure someone can load up on possessed and dreads two dps with spawn 5 csm squads 2 defilers and 1x7 demons . he may even win stuff [people being schocked and not knowing how to play against different opponents , because they played with auto pilot armies or builds that work like that paper/stone/scissors game] , but in the end against the top of the top world players [and GWs w40k world championships are closer and closer] would lose. and if it loses once then its on the net , counter tactics are there in what 8 hours post tournament ? most gamers read the reports in a week after it happening and know the game play after maybe a month . a month of playing is what 20, maybe 30 games . half of those test games . having fun only for a month [and remeber you have to buy all that stuff to play with it ] seems like a waste of money and time . better to make a divergent chaos army [i play NM , weaker but different] and have 6 months of good game play.
