minionboy
Okay, so I'm getting back into the hobby after a 3 year hiatus. I've read plenty of tactica threads, rules threads, and knitting threads, I already know what I want and don't want in the list, so with all the planing and reeducation, I gotta figure out how I'm going to paint these buggars! I'm down to 2 different ideas. The first of which is Iron Warriors. I've always liked their fluff, I like big stompy mechanical things, I like tanks and I like their paint scheme: I prefer the more dirty and aged look to Iron Warriors, rather than the pristine and clean that I've seen lately. The second idea was a WAY old idea I had (like early 2nd edition). The Shadow Legion. They use shadow portals to move swiftly through the warp, which also happens to attract a lot of warp entities and daemons to their presence. Their army can perform raids, but bring the big guns to bear as they just push them throw a shadow portal. Other warbands and even legions frequently send assistance in hope to earn or steal some of their knowledge of the warp. Here is an idea of their paint scheme: and what one of the shadow daemons could/would look like: I'm starting to lean towards my own legion, but Iron Warriors are just so cool. That and I plan on having LOTS of terminators... My 2nd ed. army was nothing but a lord and 15 terminators, which you can now happily buy together in 1 box for $90. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/156178-new-warband/ Share on other sites
Vladar
Go with the Shadow Legion, because a LOT of people play Iron Warriors (I'd say them and Death Guard are the most used chaos legions) And, more importantly, you got an interesting concept! Spaakl Daakli
Did a couple modifications, added a bolter and I think I'll have to be doing this army. :tu: Good. You are right in describing the Iron Warriors as "cool", but your concept of the Shadow Legion is inspired. It will be interesting to follow the evolution of your army (including its fluff).
