The sword is normally that shape i used multiple colours of yellow orange red and and a final layer of 50/50 flesh wash and water..the wings are from the Balrog from lord of the rings had to take approx 1.5 inches of each wing at the joint to get the scale to look right.

My son has named him terrible terrifying prince Talos.

thank you very much for the compliment

Damn. You sir, are extremely lucky. You have already got your kid into the hobby. make sure he grows up to be, oh, a GD or TOK winner. Yeah...I would have loved to have a father who raised me on the hobby...:D

Prince Talos eh? Kewl name. The conversion is spot on, and the color scheme is good as well. Some slightly blotchy highlighting here and there....but its hardly noticeable.

Making the blade red hot was a good descision. It contrasts against the other, cooler tones, and provides a focal point for the mini. Well done sir. Name your kid Mortarion. Y'know...cause its awesome. His pals can call him Mort when they dont feel like bowing to the might of chaos hehe...

Thanx for the feed back..I added a couple pics of the infamous Prince strong Stinky his Nurgle daemon prince and when we finish his slaanesh terminators ill post them.

"Another has joined the traitorous forces of chaos sir"

"Then shoot him!"

"But he is only 5 years old!"

"Ummm... fine, destroy his Barney videos, and his Power Ranger action figures!"

 Perhaps your child can see the light and will join the forces of the imperium! If not oh well good luck to him :D

I let him pick the army of choice and he chose Chaos because of the defiler because "he has a big phewer and grabby claws to smash guys with''. He played his first game a few days ago 750 annhilation against my friend who plays dark angels.

I let my son pick the models he wanted to play from his rather fast growing selection and I tweaked the gear and points to fit the 750 points. They played on a 4x 4 area.I let him tell me what he wanted to shoot at or a assault and which way they wanted to move. all i did was help him with the more complex stuff like how many dice to roll and how far a model could move...

Its my sons army ...but i do the painting and he picks the colours for each model or unit..He is painting his first model one of the chaos spawn working on keeping paint thin and proper brush strokes... i would post his spawn but its not finished and i do not think you are aloud to post a none power armour model...

I just wanted some feed back on the conversions and painting of some of the models.

... i would post his spawn but its not finished and i do not think you are aloud to post a none power armour model...

As Spawn are part of the Chaos Codex they are OK to post, as are Chaos Daemons. Unfinished models go in the Work in Progess section of the forum :).

BTW great DP with wings ;). I'm glad your five-year-old is enjoying his hobby.

Cheers

I

Wow... If I had seen that Nurgle DP when I was five, I would've broken out in tears! Lol... Not tears of joy either...

Anyhow, it's cool to know you're starting him off young, and I hope you and your son have lots of fun together! What army do you play yourself?

Also, show us the Spawn as soon as it's done!

I have played Space wolves for about 13 years ..

and recently started a mixed space marine force ,my son showed interest in the game at about 2 years old wanted to paint and roll the dice for me when i had a game. when he was 4 i decided to start his own army i took him to the local gaming store and we spent about an hour checking out the models until he decided on chaos he likes the defiler and the big daemon princes...

So far his standing record is

1 win

0 loses

0 draws

My daughter likes to watch us paint ...not sure if she is gonna be a 40 k junkie but she,s only 3

I think it's very cool that you got your son into the hobby so early. I got my nephew (12) a Space Marine Bike for last Christmas and helped him with painting by teaching him basic stuff like priming, drybrushing, washes and highlights and now both he and his dad started painting and gaming! One child in the family down, eleven more to go XD
