chapter master 454
Nice model but as others have said, head is a little too big. Pose and everything else is fine except for the tiger fur in my opinion but i've never been a fan of bright contrast like that. I Wonder if it's possible to trim them down just a touch to make them more playable, like remove stunt doubles and the double save thing. And then you forgot about one major thing about the movie orks, the special rule: deus ex machina!!! The orks always have a back up plan and thus if they are reduced to under 25% of their strength remove all but one marine as the orks have unleashed some bomb or such on the marine, the survivor must be the highest costing marine on table. ;) Anyway, thats my banter done for now Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/156321-movie-space-marine-sergeant/page/2/#findComment-1834967 Share on other sites
War Angel
the "movie marine" rules sound more like if you where playing a sort of... saving private ryan, type game. not playing it like it would be writen in novels and such. thats at least what i can tell by them having stunt dubbles. i belive a "Fluff Marines" rule would have marines cost 2-5 times the points, an extra wound or two...movment 10, better BS and shoot a shot or two more, maybe bolt weapons having minutre explosions?? and of course you would only be able to play with other people playing fluff nids or orks and such, who would all be half points and weaker stats. Garden Ninja
Well, the name "Movie Marines" was a sort of reneg of the fact that this was Fluff Marines. One squad=1500 points. I think the idea is "We don't have to make our fiction believable under our rules-set, Hollywood has been doing it this way for years!" Naturally, this is fluff marines. Now, You'll notice that we don't have terminators, librarians, chaplains or even veteran sergeants. Those are all just so far out of the league of any game that they can't be featured here. This was in WD, so I'm at least going to try it strait up before altering it any. I might stop taking any stunt doubles if they turn out to be as powerful as they look. The only limitation on the stunt doubles is that you may have no more than ten total (regardless of any other factors). I'll make that count for Apocolypse games too... unless someone wants to fight my force of ten marines and 50 stunt doubles! That might be fun. Cheesy as anything, but fun. Anyway, the way to beat them is to ignore one of their three powerful defensive measures and lay on lots of fire. Either ignore their toughness, armor save or invulnerable save and they will start dying fast enough (considering their point values). I don't see a normal massive firepower force taking these guys out though.
