AngryJohnny
Here is my first WIP update since making a vow to complete 5 Tactical Marines for the Librarium Painting Challenge. Once finished these marines will finish my first 10 Man Tactical Squad. They aren't glued at the moment (for the most part) they're just pinned. I would love to hear your comments and suggestions for them before I get too far along in the process. "I, AngryJohnny, vow on the honor of my Chapter to paint and present at least 5 Tactical Marines (for my DIY The Priory of Dorn) to finish my 1st 10 man Tactical Squad on or before the 28th of February, 2009. I promise to provide at least two WIP updates, preferably with pictures, in that time. I vow that if I should fail, I will provide the Librarium with an article and wear the Signature of Shame until my penitence period is done." Captain Malachi
I quite like the lascannon guy, actually looks like he's aiming at something, the standing ones tend to look a little goofy. I'll say more when they some paint on them. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/156337-lpc-5-tactical-marines/#findComment-1827451 Share on other sites

AngryJohnny
I've started painting up my Tactical Marines for the LPC. Here they are after they're initial base coat. http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb176/AngryJohnnyWH40K/WIP/PoD_WIP_Tactical_Squad_001-2.jpg http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb176/AngryJohnnyWH40K/WIP/PoD_WIP_Tactical_Squad_002-2.jpg http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb176/AngryJohnnyWH40K/WIP/PoD_WIP_Tactical_Squad_003-2.jpg http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb176/AngryJohnnyWH40K/WIP/PoD_WIP_Tactical_Squad_004-2.jpg What do you all think so far? Mal
Im not sure if I like that green... it looks like they have been walking through a sewer..., but that aside, the paint work is pretty clean, you could do with another coat or two of the green as its a tad patchy. But its a good start. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/156337-lpc-5-tactical-marines/#findComment-1833050 Share on other sites
AngryJohnny
OK, I've got another update. I've added about 3 more thin layers of the green & now most of the patchiness is gone. I think they may need 1 - 2 more thin layers. Then I can start picking out some of the detail. http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb176/AngryJohnnyWH40K/WIP/PoD_WIP_Tactical_Squad_001-3.jpg http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb176/AngryJohnnyWH40K/WIP/PoD_WIP_Tactical_Squad_002-3.jpg http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb176/AngryJohnnyWH40K/WIP/PoD_WIP_Tactical_Squad_003-3.jpg http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb176/AngryJohnnyWH40K/WIP/PoD_WIP_Tactical_Squad_004-3.jpg Let me know what you think! Mal
Much better, thats camo green isn't it? If so, then you'll probally want to see if you can get your hands on some of the old dark green ink as that works great for picking out details on camo green.
