Do dedicated transports count as a kill point.

yes they do

page 91 annihilation

"each player receives 1 "kill point" for each enemy unit destroyed"

and even though a transport is chosen as a transport for a unit, it is also considered an entirely separate unit, otherwise it would move/shoot/assault at the same time if it and its occupants were all counted as 1 unit

Not really a marine question, but i know some of you play tau here so maybe you can help. My house mate plays as tau, and his codex says that he has to take a devilfish transport with his unit of pathfinders. As he HAS to take the transport would i be entitled to 2 kill points for killing both (one for the transport, one for the pathfinders) or just the one?

EDIT: ive always told him i was, because in the 5ed rules even though he has to take it, he can end up transporting most of his troop choices in it and function as a completely indipendant unit

Yea, fun for that. If the devilfish has an SMS then it's only one KP. If it has drones, if it's destroyed then it's worth 1 KP, but if the drones detach before then they form their own squadron, effectively giving out 2 KP for a devilfish. Wacky.

They are treated as passengers so would detach when the vehicle is destoryed. So they would still count as a kill point.

Damn... Why did that idiot Alessio need to write the rules?

Backward compatability is a hard thing if you are trying to change the nature of the game, as the transition from 4th. to 5th. did.

It's whoever is in charge of the FAQs, who should be dragged out back and given a solid beating.
