Elcor
Does C:SM page 132 suggests that Command Squad can have a Dedicated Transport (Rhino, Razorback or Drop Pod) even if they ride bikes? Or am I getting it wrong? If I'm correct, that would be a legal way to have an extra tank or an empty DP B) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/156395-command-squad-wbikes-in-transport/ Share on other sites
Stargazer
I don't know whether you can take a transport as an option but i sure as hell know that the bikes cannot ride in it so I'm not sure but technically you shouldn't be able to Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/156395-command-squad-wbikes-in-transport/#findComment-1828182 Share on other sites
Elcor
I don't mean they can use it, I mean that the army may benefit from it. After all, in 5th ed our transport aren't dedicated anymore... Steelmage99
Yes, you can indeed buy a Rhino, a Razorback or Drop Pod, even when riding Bikes. You just can't enter them, but you can buy them. maniclurker
This is what the BRB has to say about transports and reserves. If they do, the unit and the transport will be rolled for together and will arrive together. Remember that a dedicated transport can only be deployed, and consequently can only be kept in reserve, either empty or transporting the unit is was selected with (plus any independent characters). As such, if you select a drop pod for your bike command squad, then they will have to stay in reserve, and arrive when their drop pod does. Whether or not you could find a way to use this to your advantage... I don't know. Yeril
What do people think of the idea of taking say, a 50pt Razorback, armed with 2 storm-bolters and a twinlinked heavy bolter to use as a light anti-infantry combat vehicle/mobile cover. Then again for a few points more you could get a predator, but the Razor doens't cost a heavy support option. chapter master 454
eh a razorback can have two storm bolters? and another thing, predators have 13 front armour so basicly its ether les weapons and armour but cheaper or more armour and weapons but more points. feel greatful anyway, preds are now cheap as hell for 60 points. Oldenhaller
was looking into how i might get a biking MotF with a C-Beamer in a drop pod and thought that this was ideal...no joy unfortunately Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/156395-command-squad-wbikes-in-transport/#findComment-1830286 Share on other sites

They say that IF you keep the unit and transport in reserve and IF the unit is in the transport than you roll for them togeather. If the unit isn't in the transport than you roll for them seperatly.
