Brother_Beork
I got a bit more work done, not much mind you. I cut and filed down the armoured plate on the hand, GS details to come later. I also began working on the shoulder armour, which will consist of two or three overlapping plates in the same design as the arm plates. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/brother_beork/54mm%20Bionic%20Arm/100_5791.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/brother_beork/54mm%20Bionic%20Arm/100_5793.jpg I used a shoulderpad rim to base the armour on, it also strengthens the otherwise delicate 0,3 mm plasticard. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/brother_beork/54mm%20Bionic%20Arm/100_5798.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/brother_beork/54mm%20Bionic%20Arm/100_5799.jpg Then I filed indentations in at regular intervals, until I was satisfied with the end result. I also strengthend the sides by adding a strip of 1x1 mm plasticard. And on the 1/35 mock up: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/brother_beork/54mm%20Bionic%20Arm/100_5802.jpg More to come. Sadly, I'm distracted a bit by the fact that catholic carnaval is coming fast and I need to make my sons costume. For people who visited Hobbyhawk before it mysteriously dissapeared, I'm going further back into the past this time for the costume, far further even. Let me show you all a small hint, if you can guess you should become the next Uri Geller ;P http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/brother_beork/Little%20Knight/Padawan/100_5794.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/brother_beork/Little%20Knight/Padawan/100_5790.jpg cheers, Beork Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/156564-beorks-happy-random-wip-thread-update-05-december/page/2/#findComment-1847431 Share on other sites

Lord_Caldera
Great work, I wish I could do things this detailed. Is the tube the barrel for a Ranger Long Rifle by any chance? meta-ridley
Looking very good. I think I might even have a go at bionics myself. And the costume looks a bit liek a lightsaber to me. That's what first came to my head. Meta. Brother_Beork
and the cookie goes to....: Meta-Ridley, for guessing the lightsaber! The saber will be lighted up shortly and I'm working on the tunic right now. The tube is acrylic tube, 25mm outside diameter. @ whiplash; the arm is designed for the muscly figure in the pictures. The client has the model (Inq scale) and I'm making the arm. Brother_Beork
With the 54mm bionic arm finished and posted (I forgot to take final pictures...), and finally having more time for myself again I started work on another commission. I was asked to make two bionic arms ending in scorpion like powerclaws for a terminator lord which will be based on the forgeworld red scorpion commander. I did a few rough sketches on the arm to get an idea of what the client wanted. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/brother_beork/Scorpion%20Power%20Claws/100_5789-2.jpg After this I basically got free reign on the design as long as the left arm was going to be a pointing arm. The start of the claw housing is an old 2nd edition powerfist stripped of fingers and details (could've just used a carved bit of plastic in retrospect...) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/brother_beork/Scorpion%20Power%20Claws/100_5855.jpg I wanted the upper arm to be a bit more solid than my usual bionics, while still exposing the bionics. In order to achieve this look I used plastic tube of the same size as a termy upper arm and cut/filed some holes in it. The Lord is supposed to be a slaanesh wannabe so the rounded shapes should look nice on it. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/brother_beork/Scorpion%20Power%20Claws/100_6187.jpg Quick comparison for right size. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/brother_beork/Scorpion%20Power%20Claws/100_6183.jpg C & C& ideas appreciated Beork Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/156564-beorks-happy-random-wip-thread-update-05-december/page/2/#findComment-1921689 Share on other sites
Brother_Beork
For those of you who just tuned in, I was commissioned a while ago to make scorpionclaw like powerclaws for a space marine captain that was falling slowly to slaanesh. Due to problems on multiple sides only just managed to get to work on these claws further: Left arm: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/brother_beork/Commissions/100_8252.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/brother_beork/Commissions/100_8253.jpg Right arm: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/brother_beork/Commissions/100_8253.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/brother_beork/Commissions/100_8255.jpg Impression with thumb http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/brother_beork/Commissions/100_8256.jpg And a size comparison: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/brother_beork/Commissions/100_8257.jpg More detail and cables need to be added still, the marked area on the left claw will be raised with card or putty on both. some scribing might be applied to the flat areas. C&C? cheers, Beork Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/156564-beorks-happy-random-wip-thread-update-05-december/page/2/#findComment-2205706 Share on other sites

Brother_Beork
Also started working again on an old idea, a SW champion Is a model for myself, or maybe to sell someday, not sure. Let's build him first: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/brother_beork/40K/Space%20Wolves/100_7847.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/brother_beork/40K/Space%20Wolves/100_7848.jpg his shield to be: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/brother_beork/40K/Space%20Wolves/100_7885.jpg Maybe he looks bette rwith the shield on his back and axe in hand: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/brother_beork/40K/Space%20Wolves/100_7849.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/brother_beork/40K/Space%20Wolves/100_7845.jpg I lost the mouthpiece of the horn... I'll have to make another one. He'll get a seax as well and some pouches and stuff. Not sure about his head yet, some SW bits should arrive soon which might look good. Else I've got a lot of marauder heads. maznaz
I think the last chap looks really nice. The shield on the back and a nice big meaty axe works best for me. What did you use for the celtic knot pattern on the shield? Brother_Beork
I etched it into brass sheet, I got some HCl from the lab and some H2O2 from a friend, the design was ironed on the sheet from a printout.
