The Ice Wings Blog

Recommended Posts

Hi everybody,

First off: I'm rather new, having only posted once before [ old wip blog that wasn't any good :s ] but i'm willing to be a little more active.

First project; a descent looking tabletop quality army.DIY of course, want full freedom in my minis ;)

And for starters, my Librarium painting contest minis.I'll be doing a 5 man scout squad and - hopefully ;) - a dreadnought.

I already started the scouts and what's a better motivation then a blog? :D

Here are the scouts:

Scout 1 - Cape1

FRONT

Back

I'm going for a camouflaged soft armour while the 'hard' parts are in the trim color of my army: Ice Blue

Still needs some touch-ups and some detailing, but i'm satisfied with him ^^

Scout 2 - No Cape

FRONT

BACK

RIGHT SIDE DETAILS

Other Scouts

PRIMED

Dreadnought

PRIMED - MOCKUP

The dread actually isn't glued yet, it's just put together and balancing it :P

I already have the commander and 1 tac squad finished and will post pics as soon as I get them :)

Pictures were taken by my Lovely Gf :)

As always C&C is welcome :D

Greetings

Hmmm... Interesting stuff. Good job on those scouts dude. I love the cape on the first one...

The purity seals on the second scout are a little too orange though, IMHO... You might try using Citadel's Red Gore or an equivalent color to paint P-seals, that's what I use.

All in all, good stuff. One question though... Where are the heads?

Hmm, I know what you mean about the Purity seals...

My camera always botches reds and oranges too... Kind-of annoying, as that's my color scheme, lol.

I presume that these were taken with the flash off? That usually helps... Taking pics of minis is a fine art, and a hard one.
