Moress
I just had a quick question for size comparisons between the current metal CSM Daemon prince model and the Ba'Lakor Daemon Prince model. Are they the same size or is one bigger that the other? And Are they the same Size as a Hive Tyrant? bigger or Smaller? Also, if anyone has seen teh new rumored plastic Daemon Prince, could you tell me how big it is compared to the other two? Thanks alot Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/156675-daemon-prince-size-comparison/ Share on other sites
Kairos
Hahahahaha! Dear child, the daemon prince is no where near the size of a hive tyrant - it's between the size of a hive tyrant and the avatar. Don't know about the others... Sons of Horus
the hive tyrant is the largest non vehicle model by GW i believe. hopefully the new plastic DP will be bigger than the old one especially since the termies got bigger they make the metal DP look small  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/156675-daemon-prince-size-comparison/#findComment-1831572 Share on other sites
Blue Orphen
Be'lakor (or however it's spelled) is substantially smaller than the CSM metal Daemon Prince. Also, he is almost devoid of armor, compared to the DP who is wearing almost a full suit of (biggerized) Power Armor. Lord Humongous
The metal DP is OK - the old codex implied they were maybe 12-15 feet tall. The issue is more that there are models as big (or nearly so) that are not monstrous creatures. MuGGzy
It would also help if the current CSM DP wasn't all hunched over like uncle Fred on Thanksgiving right before he made it to the toilet he would be much taller. He's bent almost in half like he's trying to touch his toes. I imagine if he was sculpted standing upright he would be almost twice as tall. Kairos
You think that's bad? Take a look at the Eldar Avatar - smallest monstrous creature ever. Then again, the current pose is actually a pretty good one for a big guy to take when he's trying to hack at small dudes with his sword. Ever been in a fight with a bunch of kids / midgets? You don't want to leave your ankles ungaurded... Moress
This kinda sucks since I don't really like either the CSM or Be'lakor models very much, and from what I've seen so far of the Plastic DP I'm not relaly sold either. I think so far I might as well just go with the CSM one, unless the plastic one has a LOT more options namely a different head, body and weapon. The plastic one isn't out yet is it? When is it getting released? GodwynDi
There are other model options for daemon princes, just now other GW options. As long as it is for friendly games, might want to look into some other company's models. Check out the new Warriors of Chaos army book in your local GW for pictures of the new daemon prince assembled two completely different ways. The set only contains one pair of legs, one torso and one left arm but everything else has an alternative. Brother Drakist
In my opinion Daemon Princes do not really need armor.....they are the blessed of the Chaos gods! Therefore I would find Bel'akor or a modfied Necron C'tan model more than adequate as a Daemon prince. Just my opinion though. Lord Humongous
The metal DP model doesn't really have armor as such, its just his body is shaped like armor in some places (and not so much in others). Its pretty clear that if you just scaled up a dude in power armor (even one who is mutated, or a possessed model) he'd look very different. Migraine
Not to hijack a thread, but here I go blatantly hijacking it! Since non of the GW DP's suit the visions of my DP to-be, I was curious on what base a DP is to be fielded on. Is it a "terminator" one or a "wraithlord" one? Oh, and the tomb spyder is definately to most pitiful of monstrous creatures!
