jester_prince
My templar army, which i converted from my old smurf army, was about 5,000 points now barley scratches 2000. I basicaly hacked and smashed my smurf army up and made it a smaller templar crusade. At one time in my life i thought huge armys were more fun, then came to realise that WH40k is a skirmish game not an all out wargame. I found that britonian knights sprueshad a great deal to offer my army so fi you want a cheap alternative to the expensive conversion box GW offer go for a britonian knights box, more heads and more CCWs with sheilds and heraldy to boot. The arms all fit fine and look awsome. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y104/ilivefordeath/06012009190.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y104/ilivefordeath/06012009191.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y104/ilivefordeath/06012009192.jpg I couldnt resist the forgworld terminator upgrades tho, they were just too good. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y104/ilivefordeath/06012009193.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y104/ilivefordeath/grail-templar3.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y104/ilivefordeath/grail-templar2.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y104/ilivefordeath/grail-templar5.jpg Id love feedback, especialy if you find anything wrong, or if you think my army lacks something (anti tank would be an obvious one). Sorry for blurry pics. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/156695-converted-templar-army/ Share on other sites

col.woods606
Good idea using the bretonnian stuff. I think they had an article about it on the old GW UK site and it looks like it worked out well! Brother Richard
Nice work..sorry you had to sacrafice the smurfs.. -_- I like the Crusade markings on your termies...especially when you moved it from the knee pad to the helmet! I had not thought of that. I am also intreged with your squad markings on the base.. templar forces are notorious for not adhering to the rank and file squad markings, which can make it difficult when pulling them from storage to table top for play. Your markings are visible and yet still somewhat subtle. good job. Yeah i found it annoying not knowing what "unit" my templars were in, so i figured something not on the model itself but still visablw was the best course of action, wouldnt be hard to make it even subtler either using greens and browns or something. I like the crusader type sheilds that is a nice touch. The white sheild with the red cross really looks good. I cant paint a straight line to save my life tho, even worse on my tanks. I wish id stuck to one crusader badge tho, atm its a mix of checkers, red crosses and chevrons. I just cant be bothered to go back and paint them all to match. Question is now is ive been baught a rihno for christmass, shall i make it demonhunters or templars... either way i need more then one of them. Brother DjoulZ
Very convincing ! I, too, love your squad markings ! sorry you had to sacrafice the smurfs.. However I'm very happy that you rid us of smurfs. They're my usual opponents, and it's always pleasant to obliterate them ! Congrats on this initiative ! Lord Exedore
I like your army and the use of bretonian equipment is great as well. I have to agree with DjoulZ, the squad markings on the bases are a VERY good idea - especially for a player who still likes the use of "large" armies although I have to admit that the logistics are somewhat...disapointing sometimes  (consider that idea stolen ) Keep up the good work!
