Brother Tancred
Here's Master Amadis (aka Sammael) fully painted now, its taken me like 3 weeks doing bits here and there and improving the cloak lol. http://i363.photobucket.com/albums/oo73/CallumM27/Ravenwing/DSCF1687.jpg http://i363.photobucket.com/albums/oo73/CallumM27/Ravenwing/DSCF1688.jpg http://i363.photobucket.com/albums/oo73/CallumM27/Ravenwing/DSCF1689.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/156739-master-of-the-ravenwing/ Share on other sites

Xavyer Jubal
Good painting m8, reallly nice. One point bothers me though.....due to the fact that uve only used green, black, white and khaki(SP?), i dont really find that the model has something special....the colors themselves are very nicely painted indeed, but its kinda.......dull....i think this model needs some colors on the details that really make him stand out and that complement with the other colors. marine
looks great, but I can't help but think it needs a little red Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/156739-master-of-the-ravenwing/#findComment-1838418 Share on other sites
Brother Tancred
Why red? Just because GW used it for their model of him doesn't mean mine has to be, in fact I was thinking of adding purple to some areas and maybe repaint the book purple instead of green. Isiah
I think adding some purple would be a great idea and certainly liven the palette up a bit. Nicely painted though :). Brother Tancred
Some purple added to his mini sword, rope around his neck, the book and also the little gem in his sword. http://i363.photobucket.com/albums/oo73/CallumM27/Ravenwing/DSCF1702.jpg http://i363.photobucket.com/albums/oo73/CallumM27/Ravenwing/DSCF1704.jpg I forgot to paint an dglue on his badge and pistol for the right leg so they need painting next. Angels_Blade
small but glaring oversight: Dark Angels always have black hair. Since when? Raven Guard yes, but most colour artwork of Dark Angels shows them with Brown hair. Azrael has Brown/gray hair on the one by the eavy metal team, as does Belial, Naaman, Cypher, The Veteran Sgt from 3rd ed, All the scouts.... It's a mini, artistic licence is what counts I feel, thats why Belial has a Beard and my Sammeal is Blond ;) AB Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/156739-master-of-the-ravenwing/#findComment-1869501 Share on other sites

Brother Tancred
Fluff wise the majority of DAs used to have dark hair (not black) when they were from Caliban but now they recruit from many worlds with many different cultures. In the DA codex the only model shown with black hair is the heav' metal version, everyone else has brown or even blonde. Painting it brown or blonde helps add some needed colour to the black armour. TayRoc
k i guess you win. i just assumed that if the gene conditioning turned all Black Templars' hair the same colour, it would have a similar effect on the Dark Angels Chapter. i bow to your superior reasoning. What a great attitude. It's nice to see somone admit defeat on a forum, god knows i've got enough things wrong before lol. Your reasoning makes sense tho. I guess we have to remember now and again that this is a fictional universe which favours fan participation. Hell, if you had a good enough reason you could argue that all imperial fists are bald! Great work on Sam, love the mini and loving that purple!
