PRoeske
Hi guys, I decided to make a space marines captain, with lighting claws and jumppack. I do't think i'm going to use it in games, but really liked the possibilities to convert it. Here are some picturs: http://www.mijnalbum.nl/Foto-TLOML3DP.jpg http://www.mijnalbum.nl/Foto-QRCDM7G8.jpg http://www.mijnalbum.nl/Foto-TMAJFZWQ.jpg Hope you like it :jaw: Grt. Alanter
The idea is cool. But you should use PA claws. The TDA ones are way too hugh. I would like to see him painted. PRoeske
The problem is, there are no right-handed (or left-handed, not sure) PA claws. The only ones i know are the pair used by Shrike. Bu if you know of them, i'd be interested But i compared the size, and a TDA lightning claw is exactly the same size as the PA powerfist, so i decided to use them. Gt. I can't agree with you. Although the Termie-Claws are rather big, they do fit on a mini like this. The jump pack, helmet and tabard give it enough bulk so the Claws don't look too big. Also, PA claws are harder to obtain for the left and right arm. A real no-no would have been to use the whole termie-arm but as far as I can see in the pics, proeske attached the fists to normal marine arms, so that's very okay ^^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/156822-space-marines-captain-w-lightning-claws/#findComment-1833707 Share on other sites
Akozz
You can laso get claws for both hands from Space Marines Veterans MK I. http://www.puolenkuunpelit.com/kauppa/imag..._sm_veteras.jpg top left guy, they are metal, but match perfect for marines Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/156822-space-marines-captain-w-lightning-claws/#findComment-1833727 Share on other sites
Narthecium
I would consider GS'ng some flames coming out of the jet packs. They will look neat, make it more of an action pose, and help to balance out the model as you're very "top heavy" right now. Zinge
You can use termie claws I did here http://www.coolminiornot.com/197699 Only I shortened the arm -(easy bit) I then cut a 1mm slice out of the middle with a hack saw and stuck the 2 halves back together filed and filled the result - (hard bit) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/156822-space-marines-captain-w-lightning-claws/#findComment-1833754 Share on other sites
Masnagj
I really like the way the mini is posed, I just think the claws are oversized imo. I really like being able to use sicarus' helmet on other models to make them a bit different. I really like using them on the masters of the Chapter box. Now the next task is getting it painted! I used two of the command squad lightning claws and 2 power fists in my conversion. Sorry for the dumb question but would this 1mm have made any difference. I can't even see where you did that on the mini (which is a compliment on your clean conversion) but would it really have mattered? Seems like a lot of work for actually nothing. Zinge
Hi, If you compare the lefthanded comander LC to a Termie LC there is a thickness difference and at the scale we are dealing with 1mm is quite a lot. (mabe slightly anal but hey) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/156822-space-marines-captain-w-lightning-claws/#findComment-1833924 Share on other sites
Vash113
I love the pose and the use of Sicarius' helmet looks great, a pretty sweet model all told! Doctor Thunder
The idea is cool. But you should use PA claws. The TDA ones are way too huge. I would like to see him painted. What are you talking about? I've got a power armor lightning claw and a terminator lightning claw right here and the fist and claw part are the exact same size.
