deaglesuk
Being generally poor and in desperate need of 14 more Plague Marines I thought I would use some standard CSMs and see what I could do with them. I decided to give them some heads which I feel are a little more Nurgley and I tried GS out for the very first time. Here are some (bad) pics for you all to laugh at before I primer them http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll109/deaglesuk/DSC00033.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll109/deaglesuk/DSC00034.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll109/deaglesuk/DSC00035.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll109/deaglesuk/DSC00036.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll109/deaglesuk/DSC00037.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll109/deaglesuk/DSC00038.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll109/deaglesuk/DSC00039.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll109/deaglesuk/DSC00040.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll109/deaglesuk/DSC00041.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll109/deaglesuk/DSC00042.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll109/deaglesuk/DSC00043.jpg Looking forward to your comments (however bad) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/156914-custom-zombie-pms/ Share on other sites
Insanity
BAD!? These are great, part from the photos, ;) Honestly, these are very good can't wait to see the finished models. deaglesuk
Thanks for the kind comment, I was honestly worried about the comments I'd get as 99% of the work I see on here blows me away. I've only been interested in the hobby for a couple of months so I am well aware of my limitations when modeling / painting Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/156914-custom-zombie-pms/#findComment-1835023 Share on other sites
Combat_Vet
I love what I can see. very weel done, they are Nurgle for sure. I too can't wait to see some paint on them. Brother Nihm
They look great but, these two: http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll109/deaglesuk/DSC00038.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll109/deaglesuk/DSC00039.jpg are by far my favourites, the first one even appears to be enjoying himself which fits well with the old jolly death-comes-for-you theme that Nurgle has (had?). Masnagj
I think the models are great, I am a complete GS noob, so I always love seeing what others are able to do with it. What I think is much more awesome, is that you have plauge marines gaurding your bread. deaglesuk
Thanks for the kind comments guys. Brother Nihm, you happened to pick my 2 favourate models :) I'm currently sat painting 1 of the plasma gun guys to try and work out a decent colour scheme for them. I'm thinking lots of washes Edit:- Well what else would I put on an important objective like bread Masnagj? My GF will never kill off 14 PMs before I need the bread for a sandwich ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/156914-custom-zombie-pms/#findComment-1835198 Share on other sites

deaglesuk
Finished painting my test mini so here are a few more (bad again, sorry) pictures for you to look at. In my defence I'm not the greatest painter in the world so I aim for tabletop standard that doesn't take forever to do http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll109/deaglesuk/DSC00044.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll109/deaglesuk/DSC00045.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll109/deaglesuk/DSC00046.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll109/deaglesuk/DSC00047.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll109/deaglesuk/DSC00048.jpg Heading to bed now, been a long day of glueing, filing, GS, spraying and painting (and a trip to GW for some bits) but looking forward to your comments Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/156914-custom-zombie-pms/#findComment-1835317 Share on other sites

deaglesuk
thanks guys. deaglesuk
Just a quick text update for you all on my progress with these guys while I wait for paint to dry. I liked the Zombie head swap so much I've built up 5 Terminators to go with them that have the Zombie heads aswell as having some other Nurglely bits modeled onto them with Greenstuff. I've also built and base coated my first Rhino for my army. The Plague Marines them selves are coming on ok, ever model has now had it's base coat of Gretchin Green and a wash of Devlan Mud. All the metal parts have had a base coat of Tin Bits. My next stage will be a dry bush / highlight of a mix of 25% Gretchin / 75% bleached Bone on all the armor and then to base coat the heads. All in all I'm quite pleased with how they are coming along, definatly the best work I've ever done in the couple of months I've been interested in 40k. Pics to follow as soon as the 2 squads of PMs are done and I might take some of the Termi's Edit:- You can see the Army list I'm thinking of for these guys here http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...howtopic=157191 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/156914-custom-zombie-pms/#findComment-1839873 Share on other sites
deaglesuk
Ok it's time for an update, not really a WIP update today though, more of a "Woohoo I've finished them at last!" update C&C most welcome as always now onto the fun bit......... pictures! http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll109/deaglesuk/Finished%20PMs/100_1720.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll109/deaglesuk/Finished%20PMs/100_1719.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll109/deaglesuk/Finished%20PMs/100_1723.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll109/deaglesuk/Finished%20PMs/100_1724.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll109/deaglesuk/Finished%20PMs/100_1725.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll109/deaglesuk/Finished%20PMs/100_1726.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll109/deaglesuk/Finished%20PMs/100_1727.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll109/deaglesuk/Finished%20PMs/100_1728.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll109/deaglesuk/Finished%20PMs/100_1729.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll109/deaglesuk/Finished%20PMs/100_1730.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll109/deaglesuk/Finished%20PMs/100_1731.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll109/deaglesuk/Finished%20PMs/100_1732.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll109/deaglesuk/Finished%20PMs/100_1733.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll109/deaglesuk/Finished%20PMs/100_1734.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll109/deaglesuk/Finished%20PMs/100_1735.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll109/deaglesuk/Finished%20PMs/100_1736.jpg My first ever unit finished!!!!!!!!! daemonclaw
nice work and a great colour scheme ,could you give us a colour recipe for the armour? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/156914-custom-zombie-pms/#findComment-1860477 Share on other sites
deaglesuk
Thanks guys. The armor colour recipe is actually very very easy to do. 1. Coat the whole model with Gretchin Green 2. Wash Devlin Mud 3. Dry brush with a mix 25% Gretchin / 75% Bleached Bone (I wanted to use Rotting flesh but had none) 4. Wash Gryphonne Sepia Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/156914-custom-zombie-pms/#findComment-1860484 Share on other sites

Low_K
Great looking PM's! As for your painting skills, I think it looks very nice! My Nurgle force also uses a few Zombie heads, really fitting imho. Then again, I use everything as heads, even the new Ghoul heads and the torso's of Slaneeshi Daemonettes (the latter is a thing of me, in every army I make I need to have a few female warriors squads). The advantage of the new boxed sets is that GW decided to make them all plastic (except ofcourse the Plaguebearers.... ), which makes cutting them up much easier! Keep up the good work! Kind regards, Low Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/156914-custom-zombie-pms/#findComment-1862520 Share on other sites
deaglesuk
Thanks a lot for the kind words guys. I've been a busy boy since I posted these. Made up 8 Nurgle Termi's, a Land Raider, a Rhino, another unit of 7 PMs, a Demon Prince and am about to start on a Vindicator. When I get a bit more paint on them I'll throw up some pics. On a side note, I played my 3rd ever game of 40k last night and I used these PMs (list was all Nurgle) Played 1500 points against Orks and by the end of turn 5 he had 4 Komamdo's left and called it. I'd lost my land raider, 2 Rhinos, 4 Termi's and 7 PMs (from 3 dif squads) My first ever 40k win!! woohoo ;-) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/156914-custom-zombie-pms/#findComment-1862996 Share on other sites
Vassakov
Very nice minis - Only real point of complaint is the weapons, which seem very bland compared to the rest of the model. Give them a Devlan mud wash, should make them look suitably rusty and grim! deaglesuk
Thanks for the comment Vassakov. The weapons have all actually had a wash of Gryphonne Sepia which because of it's slight reddish tint does give the impression of rust on them. Doesn't really show on the pictures though I guess Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/156914-custom-zombie-pms/#findComment-1863211 Share on other sites
