son of nocturne Posted January 9, 2009 Share Posted January 9, 2009 Well after a break from the mean green scalie machine i had a slash of inspiration over my xmas pud and decided to do some concept sketches for a squad of salamanders, i also bought a Cassius model, and i made Kikkala's brilliant scout concept sketch, (which i unashamedly stole) i thought id post some pics! son of nocturne Posted January 10, 2009 Author Share Posted January 10, 2009 Thanks all, i was hoping that scout would go down well, its the best model that ive made! Scout is a fairly heavy conversion, from hips down is scratch built, the basis for them are marine bike banner poles, with some solder and GS really, the squad sargeant is simple, a chest with all the stuff filed off, a chainsword arm from the tac squad sprue and a rocket launcher 'steadying/praying' hand with the thumb taken off, helmet is normal helmet appart from GS on cheeks. NONONO! :) Its a normal scout torso with the eagle filed off and as Vash113 said some carpace armour cut in to the stomach! Thanks for all the comments guys, 200Plus, funnily enough thats where i got the idea from, as this squad is going to be somewhat static in a fire support role i wanted it to look as if the sarge was shifting the squads fire rather than initially directing on target, if this squad goes well then there will be an advancing squad... The_Chaplain, compared to allot of the brilliant bionics that are out there at the moment (just take a look in the tutorial section at G_Relk and kikkala's brilliant tut) with the resergence of iron hands my bionics are quite simple, i just copied a pic of a human skeleton off good old google and try and get my bionics to look as close to them as i can! when i figure out what i want to do with the next scout i will put up a quick tut if a couple more people want to see it... :) Vash113, thanks mate, taken a long time, allot of GS and allo of inspiration from everyone on here to get to were i am now... Not happy with the punchy termy but not sure why... Will have to have a propper look at him, will update soon as well got the basics of the squad sarge done, the multi melta and the melta, once they're done will do another 3! S.O.N. Cheers mate, i am quite proud of them but i'm quite worried that im going to bugger them up right royally with the painting... not the best in the world! Have 3 test heads on the go at the moment that im quite pleased with so far, will put em up and see what y'all think after work! Thinking about joining in with the Librarium painting chalenge at the moment, but not paint them just convert the whole squad for the deadline, not to sure about the rules on that though... It isnt called the Librarium converting Chalenge is it... :lol: Plus the weekend that it finishes i have 2 final year course works in... may have to prioritize... S.O.N.
