DevilUknow
I couldn't find anything searching, so sorry if this is a repeat question. If Thunderfire is considered a vehicle with armour 10 (p.55 of core book), and it is obscured by a piece of cover (ruins 4+) with bolster defense (making it 3+) and is the target of a battle cannon does it get: a. a 3+ cover save or b. a 4+ obscured save as per targeting vehicles (p. 62 of core book) thanks. EDIT: Changed the word Artillery to Thunderfire for specificity Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/157050-thunderfire-in-cover/ Share on other sites
Souchan
p62 is quite clear that the obscured save is whatever the cover granting it is(so 3+ in this case). Flat out and wargear granting obscured give the flat save value. rekrulcinam
Very specifically, it states that you get a cover save equal to whatever is giving you cover. If you are out in the open, it's a 4+ cover save. As such, if you're getting obscurity with a bush or fence (how, I don't know), then it would be 5+. If it was from ruins, woods, walls, etc... 4+ If it's from a hardened structure like a bunker... 3+. If, somehow, you get enough chain link fences between your rhino and the lascannon shooting at it... you'd get a 6+. DevilUknow
ah yes! we've been playing "smoke launcher makes you obscured giving 4+ save, therefore, obscured is a 4+ save". thanks.
