jay79
Here are some pictures of Desert Scorpions I had made a few years back complete with the Forge World shoulder pauldrons from the Red Scorpions line. I don't really miss them that much and I know I could do a better job of painting now... so without further ado: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/157116-desert-scorpions/ Share on other sites
Hubernator
Colours are very... pastel, if you get me. They need something to give them... edge. Right now they look like a tad plain. However on a lighter note the models look great, the colour is nice and the paint job is very neat and tidy :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/157116-desert-scorpions/#findComment-1837742 Share on other sites
Isiah
They are very cleanly painted that's for sure. I think the Land Raider is my favourite as more grey than sand seems to work better for me ;). Your termy chaplain conversion is very neat and well carried out. Cheers I Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/157116-desert-scorpions/#findComment-1837784 Share on other sites

The prime example is the captain/masters cape, other than that, great job. jay79
Thanks guys. These models are now gone though. I sold them a few years back. I'm not going to re-use the theme or the colors, instead I'm going with the colors and theme from my signature: Guardians of the Reef using codex gray, scab red, catachan green, black, bleached bone etc. The land raider and the termies were my favorite too. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/157116-desert-scorpions/#findComment-1837821 Share on other sites
doctor_wu
For some reason they remind me of tau. However the painitg itself is good. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/157116-desert-scorpions/#findComment-1837934 Share on other sites
Mal
That painting level is nothing to bemoan, its actually pretty good, they could have done with a wash, espically on the cloaks, and the highlights could have been done with more contrast, but its clean and the weathering is pretty good... jay79
Thanks, Mal. It certainly took me awhile per terminator to paint... I didn't use any ink (or washes as they are now known) but should have. It took entirely too long to paint the black lines on everything with light colors surrounding... which is why I will not be pursuing that paint scheme on my new army. I'd like to actually play with a fully painted army in less than two years. lol Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/157116-desert-scorpions/#findComment-1839286 Share on other sites
