Long Fangs, semi-PoTMS Rhino?

starting a new army at the moment, and wanted to run an idea past people and see what they think.

the following unit:

Long Fangs:

1 x Pack Leader, BP, CCW

2 x Long Fangs, ML

Rhino

With the rhino now having 2 firing points, and the Pack leader allowing you to target 2 targets, would this unit work well as a fire support team? The main issue i have with long fangs is their low model count meaning any casualty greatly reduces the effectiveness of the unit. they need some survivavbilty. firing from a rhino allows the unit to fire with increase survivability, the ability to redeploy rapidly (and come in from reserves more effectively... e.g 'Dawn of War' missions), and slightly improved LOS.

The number of opponent units that can threaten them is reduced drastically, small arms fire being no threat where before small arms fire would be my prefered method of dealing with long Fangs, but the down side being the anti-tank units an opponent might have will (on must damage table results) stop the Long-Fangs firing next turn (though perhaps being unable to fire next turn is better than them simply being dead next turn?). Also in most armies anti-tank is limited... if the opponents limited anti tank is now being drawn towards the long fangs, where before it wouldn't have been, this will have a knock on benefit of drawing fire from other armoured targets (ven dread, BC rhinos, TDA WG).

Anyway, what do people think of this. Viable?

edit: and i guess 'some' added survivablity vs intercept assault units... hormagaunts, drop podding ironclads, scout bikers etc that will be aiming to engage my 'backfield' in assaults turn 2.

yes i know that. i'm using the vehicle to protect the long fangs, not trying to allow them to move & fire. the ability to move 12" and not fire as opposed to 6" and not fire is just a bonus that helps them avoid assaults.

actually, i suppose techincally they could redeploy 14+D6" (move 12, disembark, run ... if getting out of assault range, or last minute objective contesting was really important)

True, not a bad thing to have when you get a Dawn of War result.

And if they look like their going to get assulted, you just roll em away, better that than loss of points. I would give the Rhino a PMSB to give it some extra punch and staying power.
