Bikes and Moving Up/Down Flights of Stairs

What do you think of bikes, and their ability / inability to move up/down stairs and/or levels in a building? Going over the BRB last night with a buddy of mine and a local Red Shirt we couldn't find anything that either supported or denied bikes the ability to go up steps.

No bikes were in a situation where we needed an answer..but the point came up because someone tried to argue that a deffdred couldn't go up steps when there is indeed literature supporting walkers being able to go up or down flights of stairs / building levels, and out of curiousity we tried to look up bikes.

Anyone have a solid answer?

The only rules regarding movement in ruins are in the BRB, where it essentially summarizes to:

- Moving in ruins is difficult terrain.

- You can move a total distance forward and up equal to the difficult ground check.

Bikes are specifically noted as treating difficult terrain as dangerous, and that they are not slowed by difficult terrain.

- This means that every bike makes a 1 in 6 check or dies with no armor save possible.

- This means that bikes are not slowed, and can always move their full distance (12").

If you're willing to risk it, it means that you can get bikes from outside a building inside and up as many levels as you have movement for.

Obviously when Warp Angel was typing his reply, Nighthawks reply had not been posted yet. As Nighthawk pointed out, only Infantry, Monstrous Creatures, Walkers, Jump Infantry and Jetbikes can move to different levels of a ruined building. Bikes cannot.

If it is not a "ruined building" but a solid piece of terrain, then you have to discuss with your opponent how those stairs are treated for bikes. They would probably be difficult terrain at least.
