Well, its been a while since I posted anything here, though that was never finished. The minis I posted will instead become part of my mammoth task- to raise a whole battle company along with extra elements from the 1st Company, 10th Company and 8th Company, the battle company being the IRON LORDS 5TH. This will take a very long time, and I intend to update this everytime I do something new and keep it ongoing

So on the cards on the moment, which I have, are:

  • MotF on bike
  • Dreadnought
  • 2 Tactical squads
  • 2 Rhinos
  • 2 Predators

Then to be added, of which I some bits but not any of the Tanks or other vehicles(bikes&Landspeeders) are

  • Terminator Librarian
  • Chaplain
  • Chapter Master
  • 1 Honour Guard squad
  • 2 Dreadnoughts
  • 2 Terminator squads
  • 1 Sternguard veteran squad
  • 4 Tactical squads
  • 2 Scout squads
  • 2 Assault squads
  • 1 Bike squadron
  • 1 Landspeeder squadron
  • 1 Vanguard Veteran squad
  • 2 Devastator squads
  • 2 Vindicators
  • 1 Razorback
  • 6 Rhinos
  • 1 Land Raider Redeemer

Without further a do, heres what I'm working on at the moment- My MotF.

The photos aren't great as they were taken on my phone(my dad has the cam), but hopefully you can see what I'm trying to do. I've cut off the riders right leg, and replaced it with a normal standing one, so that it looks like he's stopped and put his foot down to hold himself and the bike up. His foot doesn't quite touch the floor, but there'll be plasticard underneath it on the base so it will do. I'm going to paint the bike and MotF seperately. The MotF is going to be tricky to put together with the bits I'm using.

Will update soon with pics of the MotF!

cool id like to see them once you paint them i'm thinking of starting my wip but my armys probably not gonna take off till i go to one of the hobby camps (who can say no to a free battle force and army case and painting/modelling tips and their tools
I like the idea - just one comment so far: you have the Mk7 style biker leg from the bike kit and added a Mk6 style leg from a tac. marine - they don't match very well at all...

Oh crap.....i didn't see that

I'm also having trouble fitting servo arms on without the bike getting in the way....I've done a bit of bending but it needs more which it can't really take..any advice would be appreciated.......

++UPDATE++

Heres the progess on the MotF. I've swapped the Mk 6 leg for a Mk 7, but as you can see it doesn't fit aswell. I'm deciding whether to cut and reposition the foot or just model something underneath it and around it. He's sat on the bike, but not glued, just so I can glue him together in a way that fits around the bike.....its just the plasma cutters that won't go on because of the bike being in the way. I may also remove the back rest so that it looks like he can sit on it straight without the rest getting in the way of the backpack

And heres a pic of his Thunder Hammer. I used the fisty one because theres a fist in the chapter badge. Its just the bottom part of Lysanders arm and the top part of the bolter arm you get with the Tecmarine.

I wanted the other arm to ne holding the handlebar, but I don't think that's going to be possible. My modelling skills aren't up to sculpting an arm from scratch.

pin the arm going to the side and greestuff some soft armor to fill the gap?

i don't know about that helmet, seems a little bland for a master of the forge :D

Th angle that he was turned at was too big to do that, but noe I've fiddles around to fit in the servo arms and bacpack its not so big, so that is what I'm going to do.

Oh that was just used for positioning the body and the way the head would go. I'm going to use an Iron Hands one.

In the meantime, some Tactical marines for you to look at

i love the biker's pose, i honestly love it.

i can't believe i never thought about that...and i was thinking about making a bike army to display in the family motorcycle shop...painted up in triumph colors.

well if i do ended w/ that project, i may just end up stealing ur idea there :P

You could have used an Mk7 style Assault Marine leg so that the extended toe would touch the ground

Just a thought, but how about keeping the statndard biker legs and put him in a pose like he's "skidding" to a stop or around a corner both feet on the pegs. Kind of like the racing bikes take those corner almost on a knee. The model at the back of the base gives it a nice sense of movement. You could hang the hammer arm so the hammer is parralel to the ground as if it were a counter balance. IMHO this would make the model even more dynamic. Keep the torso straight forward and keep the head angled as it is now, this would allow the left arm to naturally rest on the handle bar.
