kennedy
if you have an inquisitor and a officio assassin in a dh/wh army, can you then ally with the other dh/wh army with an inquisitor and take a 2nd officio assassin? i know it says in my dh codex that no more than one officio assassin may be used for any reason, i just wasnt sure if that included allying. i figure i already know the answer is no, but i thought i would ask to make sure. Inquisitor Fox
You are correct, the answer is no :( Now if you're playing an Apocalypse game, you can have multiple Temple Assassins.. there's even a special formation for doing so. Now Death Cult Assassins, you can always have multiple unit choices of ... so up to 9 DCA's in a regular game (3 Elites choices). kennedy
i figured as much. it was just wishful thinking. yes, i have enjoyed using 6 vindicares in appoc before. they worked good until some orky rocket mega blast template did a number on them(scattered right onto them, ouch). i havent used my assassins too much, they just seemed like a lot of points that could be better used on my knights. my son plays tyranids and when we play, the assassins seem like they would just get overrun, and i would prefer to have a few more storm bolters ripping away from a distance. although, after reading some of the other threads, i might try some of the others-callidus especially, she has been in the box since someone gave her to me and havey really tried her yet. Imperator Mos
I use a Callidus occasionaly. Usually good to take out a squad, especially if they're low leadership. Very useful to mess up your opponent's plan. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/157663-assassins-as-allies/#findComment-1844977 Share on other sites
kennedy
well, GW has just answered my email question to them from last month concerning my original quesstion here. and there response was- yes, you may take another oficio assassin as long as you take the required inquisitor. well, i think that will raise some debate....and explanation to your opponent if that is really true. Captain Malachi
Email them again and see if you get the same answer, odds are you won't. It's much easier to just take the one assassin, and there's no real reason to take two anyway, they aren't that effective, much better to buy some more grey knights :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/157663-assassins-as-allies/#findComment-1856151 Share on other sites

Try the Culexus. The Synapse rule gives you so many shots with the Animus Speculum. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/157663-assassins-as-allies/#findComment-1856257 Share on other sites

This is not the 1st time GW doesn't understand their own rules. What can be clearer than "You can't take more than 1 Officio Assassinorum Operative in a single force for any reason." That covers all the bases, doesn't it? You get one and only one Officio Assassinorum Operative in your 40K army. Period. Apocalypse is the only exception.
