LPetersson
Many many years ago, I think the late '90s, I read a short story in some Warhammer 40k anthology about an outlying Imperial Guard base or listening post (I think) which came under attack by the forces of chaos. They were then saved by a lone warrior in power armour and accompanied by two wolves. For some reason I always took this to be Leman Russ as he then disappeared as mysteriously as he appeared... Can anyone remember this short story, what it was called and which anthology it appeared in? Vash113
The only story I recall even similar to that was an IG base falling to the Black Legion but saved at the last second by the forces of the 13th Company. A Rune/Wolf Priest and a few Wulfen are all that appear in the story, I'll look and see if I can find which anthology it's in. Growler67
Probably wouldn't have been "Gaunt's Ghost" then. It's heavy IG, but I think an IG was the protagonist/hero there and not a SW.
