Biotitan
Usually I'm just a lurker here my main army been Tyranids. For an upcoming tournament I needed more Warriors but I didn't have the money to buy more so using the AoBR terminators I converted up some enslaved counts as warriors. http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i4/joel-kviz/IMG_2988.jpg I green stuffed onto them a headcrab style mind control parasite thing and some tentacles to show they are slowly been completely taken over. Some got some new niddy weapons as well. http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i4/joel-kviz/IMG_2982small.jpg I used a 3rd ed tyrant guard as a larger leader warrior for the squad. http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i4/joel-kviz/IMG_2986small.jpg the upper arms are just for show as I plan to play the squad as equipped with twin linked devourers. Looking at them now I rather like them and I might do a small "chapter" of these guys later on. Not sure how i should paint them though, should I do them all form the same chapter? or a random collection of different chapters? Uprising
This looks similar to my infected guard project. I really like the idea and the converting. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/157789-enslaved-terminators/#findComment-1846644 Share on other sites
Alys Dwr
Bugs with 2+/5+ saves.... that's scary. I like your idea, looking forward to some paint, but i think they need a bit more tyranidification to be a more convincing. Al haha I wish  I'm just playing them as counts as warriors with the inferior save been explained as killing the brain parasite, thus leading to stationary harmless zombie marines. I don't want to nidify them much more because I don't want them to look to much like infested terrans from starcraft. Not sure how I'm going to paint them, still trying to decide if they're going to be from a single chapter (and which one?) or if they will be a mix. the nid bits though will be purple and gold to match my hive fleet. Captain Malachi
They look great to me, no need for more nidifying. As for the colour scheme, I'd keep them in one scheme, and if you have a regular opponent who plays marines, paint them in his scheme, otherwise paint them in any scheme that goes well with your nids. Honda
This is an excellent idea! As a side project, I was looking into converting some IG as parasitic takeovers to represent termagants. I need some Hive Tyrant guard as well, but didn't want to plop down the $$ for the metal figs. This idea will allow me to use some of the AoBR termies and accomplish the same thing. Wow! This is extremely helpful. Thank you for sharing. Cheers, BTW, I would actually do them in separate chapters, but I would include one from your buddies chapter just so that he knows you are thinking of him. :pinch: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/157789-enslaved-terminators/#findComment-1846916 Share on other sites
Vladar
;) Lovin' these models :) Not sure how I'm going to paint them, still trying to decide if they're going to be from a single chapter (and which one?) or if they will be a mix. the nid bits though will be purple and gold to match my hive fleet. I would paint the squad the same. Like they were a team sent to cleanse a space hulk of Tyranid Infestation, but failed... madscuzzy
Just remember that despite being in 'Power Armour', this is not a Nid site. Beyond how to make this a viable CODEX marine chapter, there should not be any further discussion about this. ANY nid-related topic will kill so please do turn this thread into the direction it should go or this is closed. Sons of Horus
it could be part of a mini campaign. some termies get infected and the rest of the chapter must save them  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/157789-enslaved-terminators/#findComment-1847551 Share on other sites

Biotitan
Thanks for the kind words ;) I think I'll do a few smurfs in the army when I eventually do a space marine army of these guys as most of my local marine players have smurfs, really though I'm sick of them and don't want to paint many. I'm going to keep most from a single chapter and do a proper marine armie in the future based on this, I was thinking that these Termies (borrowing Vladar's idea) entered a space hulk to cleanse it and ran into a new nid creature, something like a synapse Lictor that carries around these parasites and infects people with them, these marines got infect and under the direction of the Lictor return to there chapter to infect them as well, basically turning the entire chapter into a genestealer cult cept with this lictor thing replacing the genestealer patriarch and it been spread by a parasite rather than breeding. Now the chapter roams imperial space spreading discord and destroying planets abilities to defend them selves from the hive fleet that follows in there wake. To make this a bit more plausible I was going to say that the chapter was a nomadic one and so they haven't been absorbed because they keep moving ahead of the main fleet. but I want to know, are there any chapters that are nomadic, moving around imperial space in there personal fleet instead of having a single main planet? It will be a few weeks before I can do the rest of the AoBR marines as I'm using these guys in a tournament on australia day and I want to get them painted up. Captain Malachi
Loads of chapters are nomadic, the Black Templars, and to a lesser extent the Dark Angels, are space bourne, as well as many other less famous chapters.
