Exhumed
Good! I think you should paint the bolters differently however. Give them a black casing. All silver boltguns look poo. Otherwise nice stuff. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158053-flesh-eaters-tactical-squad-and-rhino/#findComment-1849939 Share on other sites

captain_shrike
I like the red how did you achieve it? Gives me a pretty good indication of what my Iron Lords could look like Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158053-flesh-eaters-tactical-squad-and-rhino/#findComment-1851683 Share on other sites
tedwin183
I know they aren't molded to look "cool" or at least not as "cool" as the newer models, but I have a major soft spot for old models. I have a friend with half and army full of unpainted 1st ed marines. They are just so charming...and small. Graypaint
Good! I think you should paint the bolters differently however. Give them a black casing. All silver boltguns look poo. Otherwise nice stuff. I don't really like having colored bolter casings. I think black might have worked, but then they are just too dark. I did sort of botch a few of the bolters and need to go back and either bring them all up to a brighter finish or darken them all back down. I like the red how did you achieve it? Gives me a pretty good indication of what my Iron Lords could look like The red probably took the longest. I used Vallejo game color and more or less just got a nice even coat, then shaded around the armor plates with a very dilute purple, layering it all up. I then hit the higher points with some yellow, which was a major pain in the ass to layer, and I botched several times. I know they aren't molded to look "cool" or at least not as "cool" as the newer models, but I have a major soft spot for old models. I have a friend with half and army full of unpainted 1st ed marines. They are just so charming...and small. I agree, I have some old RT marines as well, the problem is that they just stick out like a sore thumb compared to newer plastics and AoBR marines. I even think that the Sgt. is too short compared to the AoBR marines. I sort of feel like it's cheating to use the smaller older rhinos because they are easier to hide behind cover, on the other hand, I don't really want to pay more than I need to and I use about five of them...
