The Crimson Cartel
Since "Orby B" is a barrage attack and doesn't require LOS (correct?) can Stealthed units ( Tau Stealth Suits,etc..) be targeted? Or is it still " I can see you, but I really can't see you..?) Just curious. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158127-orby-b/ Share on other sites
Cedric
Since the orbital bombardment doesn't rely on sight, yes, the Stealthsuits can be targetted. The bombardment is a barrage weapon, so it scatters +1d6 longer, however. Legatus
As per the Orbital Bombardments own rules, the bombardment allways scatters the full 2D6, it will never be modified by the Chapter Masters Balistic Skill, so there really is no difference between targetting a unit that is out of LOS or one that the Chapter Master can see. Maligoare
As cedric says, there is a difference. Barrage weapons roll an extra D6 for scatter when targeting a model equipped with a stealth field generator. Orbital Bombardment is a barrage weapon, so it rolls 3D6 for scatter, and can not have that modified by the BS pf the model using it. That covers the case for Tau Stealthsuits and Sniper Drones. If you want to know how the GK Shrouding or the Vindicare's stealth suit work, I don't know. Hope that helps! Lord Marius
I haven't got my Daemonhunters book with me, but I think the Aegis rules says that Grey Knights who are out of the dice range can't be shot at. As far as firing it at Eldar Harlequins with a Shadowseer, they have their rule clarified in their FAQ - if a barrage weapon can't make the roll to see them, they can't be shot at. It really seems to depend on what you're shooting, as each of the stealthy units has different rules or wording. Mal
Shrouding can be nasty with one shot weapons.... Simply because you cannot pick another target to fire at once you've tested to see if you can see them..... now this bit is debateable.... does this 'wasted shot' count as you having fired the weapon but been unable to hit them, or you just couldn't get a goot sight so didn't fire.... the rules do not say either way IIRC.
