I use a number of First Founding Legions in my warband, with the exception of a Khorne Lord who is a renegade of my Loyalist chapter. I reason that my OC only respects First Founding Legions but knows what to use if it's needed.

Just started playing and I'm building up my Nurgle force. All PMs, a Nurgle marked DP, a few Termi's a Vindi and a LR

 

Can't really call them a faction I guess

 

Well it is if you say they're from the Death Guard -> Than it's a Legion vote

If it's a non Death Guard Warband (own scheme/fluff) -> Than it's a Chaos Warband.

 

Your call. Either are nice and cool.

Iron Warriors may soon replace the WB for fluff reasons.

 

 

The opposite. I abandoned the Iron Warriors to embrace the Word Bearers, for fluff reasons.

I started playing Iron Warriors back at the end of 2nd Edition/beginning of 3e. I dug the fluff, and then when the rules came out in WD and they became t3h ch33z, I got frustrated, but kept on because I really enjoyed the army. I eventually did their fluff to be part of the Fourth Grand Company: The Iron Vanguard, since I had a bit more by way of bikes and mechanized assault troops than most Iron Warriors players. Then, in the second 3e Codex they were firmly cemented as Flavor of the Month, and I gave up on them for a long time. Now, after a long break from 40k I have decided to slow build a new Chaos army while I play my Orks. I am considering going IWs again, but also kindof want to try a new fluff angle and go Word Bearers or a splinter thereof. Either way, I put myself down as a legion vote.

 

I am still in the process of reading C:CSM, and am frankly shocked at the dramatic departure and copious ret-conning of fluff going on. I think it's hillarious that GW is really trying to push the renegade angle and toss out the Legions as the mainstay of CSMs, yet us crusty old vets hang on.
