Ming
Gamers can be charitable. Our local game store allowed me to create the "Will Paint for Food" event, to collect canned goods for local foodbanks. We are doing this Sunday January 25th, and if it works well we may do it every January. So far we have maybe 50-100 "canned food" equivalents to paint that we know of, with maybe 4-5 gamers to work on what people bring in, GW and other game systems figs. This should be fun, providing time for gamers to interact, get painting tips from each other, and help non-painters enjoy their hobbby a bit more. :P More information can be found here: http://www.crossroadgames.com/phpnews/news...news&id=518 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158277-will-paint-for-food-january-25-2009/ Share on other sites
Ming
As a wrap up to the event - 4 local gamers painted for donations 128 cans of food for the local food bank - In 7 hours we did 10 blood angels, 2 templar rhinos, 15 ork burnas, an ork warboss, 3 deffcoptas, 10 greatsword elves, 12 wood elves, 11 dark elves, 23 misc. figs from the game confrontation, and some misc. historicals. It was a great time for painting and fellowship. We may do it again in the fall of 2009...
