minigun762
If you were to spam 1 Gawd's troops, which would end up being the most successful? Its true that all of them are generally lacking in 1 or more departments, especially against heavy armor. My first thought is Horrors simply because they have a method for dealing with AV14 armor (Bolt of Tzeentch) and they can shoot. Captain Malachi
Bloodletters, grinders and MCs are much better at tank killing, but bloodletters are by far the best troops choice for general infantry killing, which grinders and MCs don't have enough attacks to do reliably. Or possibly plaguebearers, so you can rely on your elites choices (i.e. crushers, fiends and flamers) to kill infantry, while your heavies take out tanks. Horrors aren't good for spamming, too expensive. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158288-mono-gawd-troop-spam/#findComment-1852694 Share on other sites
==Me==
I wouldn't spam any of them honestly, your Elites and HQ do most of the real work anyway. On their own I prefer Bloodletters for chopping things up, Horrors for dakka, or Plaguebearers for holding things. Daemonettes = fail. True but is it just me, or do you not want to lay down 100 models when you're playing a Daemon army? For once I don't have to worry about smaller squads who need transports, instead I can play like Orks or Tyranids, but with Inv saves all around! :P A giant wave of daemonic flesh to cover the board in killiness. ==Me==
I've got Orks for that :) I want a bunch of unholy monsters of destruction running around slaughtering things, not a horde of daemonic chumps stinking up the place :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158288-mono-gawd-troop-spam/#findComment-1853043 Share on other sites
Lord Eltor
This list worked really good! Captain Malachi
We tried that when he posted the list in the army list section remember? I don't think he wants to use Epi, which is reasonable enough. Gotta agree with ==Me==, lots of big buggers is a cooler image than a horde of little guys, but I played 'nids for a while, so maybe that's it. Lord Eltor
It was a fun list, I wanted to use the maximum amount of troop slots. In a 1500 point list, the 3rd DP is obviously the way to go! See coming from Marines, I think a hordie army would be fun, of course you two already have that now don't you? I think its totally doable though. The thing that all the little guys lack is anti-tank punch. That means if you focus your HQ/Elites/Heavies for tank killing (which is pretty easy really), the rest could be daemon spam. Bloodletter's would probably be the best choice, as they're more killy than the rest and mediumly survivable (tied with Horrors). Lord Eltor
7 Plaguebearers have 14 attacks against a tank (every turn) and can do a lot of damage! immobilize, destroy weapons ... This is what happened in the game against imperial guard. 2 Chimeras, 1 Hellhound, 2 Leman Russes! Captain Malachi
You managed to keep charging tanks with plaguebearers? Was the guard player not moving them at all? Lord Eltor
Move or shoot, this makes a guard player feel like being in trouble:-D Also I can charge about an average of 10 inches! This is not too bad! Of course it was a little bit of luck sometimes but a rear armour of 10 is just crap! Captain Malachi
Correct me if I'm wrong, but SnP slows down the charge distance as well right? (I'm not sure, I don't have my book and I never charge with PBs) If I'm right it's an average of 7 inches. minigun762
I suppose you could create a ring around enemy tanks with Plague Bearers and slowly draw the noose in. My question would be, against IG alot of the Plague Bearer's strength would be diminished, BattleCannons, Plasma, Melta, Missiles, LasCannons are all going to ignore T5 and FnP, leaving you the same as a Daemonette. Yeah, you are right with always moves as in slow terrain, but you are wrong with the 7, the value is higher though I cant calculate it. It is because you chose from 2+2 dices ... Lord Eltor
The average you roll is about 8.94 inches with two slow 'n purposeful rolls! So not too bad!
