Dark Bjoern
Here is a pic of my WIP Grey Knight Chaplain. I was inspired by the GK novel Grey Knight. First i planed to make him with a pair of LCs but cause there´re no rule for GK Chaplains i will use him as a normal GKT. http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x120/DarkBjoern/Grey%20Knights/GreyKnightChaplainWIP.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158376-my-wip-grey-knight-chaplain/ Share on other sites

flintlocklaser
who is it counting as in grey knights btw? He says it right in his post: "cause there´re no rule for GK Chaplains i will use him as a normal GKT." Reading is fundamental.... jay79
Sweet conversion! That is the same head I used when converting a plastic termy into my chaplain (that I sold). :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158376-my-wip-grey-knight-chaplain/#findComment-1854043 Share on other sites
Inquisitor =D=
while I despise the thought of a Grey Knight Chaplain I must admit if it did exist he'd look like that. You've done the idea justice. Now about the paint, whats your plan? You've done the idea justice. Now about the paint, whats your plan? In the novel the Chaplain was discript like any other GK with the exception of one arm which was colored in black as a symbol of his office. I think i will do the same. Now i´ll need to find the passage cause i wanna know which arm it was. Drudge Dreadnought
I like the model and crozius, but i disagree about the head. Chaplains have skull helments, and that particular one just doesn't read as skull for me. Its also a CSM helmet, so i feel it just sends the wrong message. Such a big part of a chaplain is the skull helm, so i don't understand why you'd want to pass that up in favor of a commonly seen csm helmet? Pig Of Sparta
I like the mini, although like Drudge said, I'm not 100% certain about that skull helm. I know the character you're talking about, and I think you could have gotten away with lightning claws if you'd wanted to. I was going to do the same thing. I've even got a Grey Knight sitting upstairs right now with a reaper auto cannon and nemesis sword (obviously not a valid loadout for a GK but I thought it would look cool as a Knight from the infancy of the chapter) I think that the gun metal armour with black arm would look really good, and look forward to seeing more ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158376-my-wip-grey-knight-chaplain/#findComment-1854175 Share on other sites
jay79
Nonsense. I think that skull works great on chaplains. Here's the one I did back in the day: * *not trying to hijack, just showing that it can look good (imo) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158376-my-wip-grey-knight-chaplain/#findComment-1854286 Share on other sites
Kurasuke
I like it too. Really basic conversion but rather effective. Like the head, I've been seeing it on Chaplains for years. Combat_Vet
GK chaplains are fun to place on the table. I had one in PA and one in termie armor. I just thought of them as very devout justicars. By the way, it's the right arm that is painted black. I'm looking forward to seeing this finished. Dark Bjoern
Ok, i made a new helmet. Is this one better? http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x120/DarkBjoern/Grey%20Knights/GreyKnightChaplainWIP1.jpg http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x120/DarkBjoern/Grey%20Knights/GreyKnightChaplainWIP2.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158376-my-wip-grey-knight-chaplain/#findComment-1855352 Share on other sites
Starbuck_
Although I agree the first helmet isn't the best skull one to use, I feel it works better than the above one. Captin Xavier
Im afraid i'm gunna have to agree with Starbuck_. The other helmet seemed to fit the model more, the 'compact-ness' of the first helmet complimented the curves and the gerenal shape of the armour. Cheers Cpt X Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158376-my-wip-grey-knight-chaplain/#findComment-1855385 Share on other sites
jay79
Personally, I think that is one of the worst ones to use on a chaplain. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158376-my-wip-grey-knight-chaplain/#findComment-1855537 Share on other sites
Temprus
I liked the original helmet too and it is a common "Chaplain" helmet on conversions. koran
Nice model... Nice simple conversions but done very well make it look just as it should in my eyes. I have to say the first head and beg you to use that. The second one just doesnt compliment the model at all... Sorry. Such a big part of a chaplain is the skull helm, so i don't understand why you'd want to pass that up in favor of a commonly seen csm helmet? Never a rule without exceptions. In fact, in the Black Templar codex, the chaplain entry is depicted with a very much normal helmet. (but with studs on the "forehead") However, they shouldn't have "basic" helmets either. And as for the two helmets. I'd go for the first one. The 2nd is a bit too large in my opinion. -Morkar-
Frist helmet looks better IMHO. Great chaplain overall. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158376-my-wip-grey-knight-chaplain/#findComment-1856317 Share on other sites
Winterseven
I'm going to throw my tuppence worth in and say that either helmet would be useable. I can see both sides to the 'helmet argument' as yes the first helmet does compliment the curves better, but i've seen the second helmet used on numerous chaplain conversions, mainly on the old GW website admittedly! Anyways it's your model go with whatever one you like best :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158376-my-wip-grey-knight-chaplain/#findComment-1859097 Share on other sites
mightygoose
go with helmet one unless you want Ron Perlman to be your chaplain... [linkie] Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158376-my-wip-grey-knight-chaplain/#findComment-1859102 Share on other sites
