Kuchinawa
Again Thanks to The Fighting Tigers of Veda for all the nice tips and ideas and I hope this is ok effort. I did it in a short amount of time, but Tiger Raja has once again taught me something new about space marines, and I thought I'd make it up to all the help he's given me is to paint a marine for my self to show to other gamers and spread his knowledge around. So now onto Brother Hobbes http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj100/Kuchinawa212/DSCN1004.jpg http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj100/Kuchinawa212/DSCN1005.jpg http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj100/Kuchinawa212/DSCN1006.jpg Based on... http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj100/Kuchinawa212/newindra21.jpg So what do you guys think? is it ok? I suppose it should be in WIP, but if you guys think it's alright then I keep it here. Rogue Trooper
I think he looks fantastic! That's a real nice white to orange and the colours you have chosen look fantastic. My only niggles would be the black stripes; at the moment they're a little flat, you could use a greyer version or highlight the black just to make them more in tune with the rest of the model. Also, it may be a good idea to change the bolter casing to avoid overdoing a good thing. A black bolter highlighted the same way as the stripes would still be in line with the overall colour scheme without busying the model and drawing attention away from the main appeal; the marine himself. The same goes for the backpack; it's drawing away from the model - asimpler, single colour will help to show up the rest of the scheme. Still, I really like that blend from the inner to outer colours and it's fantastic work. I wanted to shout "They'reeee Great" when I saw it, I reckon you're at risk of getting that a lot. Lt.doobie
I think you just about nailed the marine, but the terminator did not fair as well. Something I think would complete this theme is to make the stripes 'digital'. As in, make them appear like pixels, very blocky, would be an interesting tiger interpretation. But extremely time consuming. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158408-bro-hobbes/#findComment-1854994 Share on other sites
Kuchinawa
Cool you guys really do like him :D At RT: I thought it was missing something and after looking at it again, I see you're totally right. But what color should the backpack be? Black high lighted grey? At Termy in Hell: Annoying Susie Durkins... With grey knight help ;) At Lt.: Whoa boy that sounds cool, maybe I can try it some other time I was able to paint this model in about under hour so I felt it missed something Also this is were the Termy Tigers are from: http://www.fightingtigersofveda.com/currentelites.htm Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158408-bro-hobbes/#findComment-1855021 Share on other sites

Brother of the Temple
An army of those would look great on the table top. I do agree with highlighting some of the black stripes with a grey, but for table top scale that is very good.
