MechSpacewulf
Can you land a drop pod without any passengers? With the new options it could be a nasty speed bump if possible...just wondering. nighthawks
DA FAQ says yes. as it is a transport there is nothing stopping you from doing that in C:SM or C:BA either. I presume the other pod-having lists are the same. and yes - with a deathwind launcher and the new DP BS it's quite the nasty little toy. greatcrusade08
This is quite a good tactic in order to bring down more units in the first turn, if you had two ironclads, buy a 35 point pod for one of your tacs and keep it in reserve empty...then choose the two dreads to come down on the first turn and cause carnage!!! :teehee: GC08 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158409-empty-drop-pod/#findComment-1854775 Share on other sites

Also can drop pods shoot the turn they enter play? Because im pretty sure they cant. Thats what i meant by two dreads coming down, since you round up the number of pods in the first turn having the third will mean your two ironclad dreads will arrive on the first turn... And no drop pods cannot fire on the turn they arrive. GC08 Nice and cunning especially against nids if they have heavy flamers and if they have hunter killers they can even do some damage to a fex before punching it down in combat and ork vehcles will be crying. You could even put an end to a battlewagon or two that way. Thanks for the idea.
