Hi!

I almost finished the Black Reach Set and I am proud to show you the beginnings

of my new Iron Snakes Army. (A lot of the colorscheme is actually stolen from

the forum ;-))

it doesn't really go with the book (e.g.apothecaries, lances, shields) but I'm still planing on doing a Damocles Squad that's more fluff-acurate.

Hope you like it, more to come soon

greetings,

Nice models

But I wanted to be the first on the board to post some Snakes :(

Damoles is a pain because it can't be a tactical cause of Priad's lighning claw, so allas i have to use them as a Sternguard squad but it come to a total of 275pts which is huge for one squad.

@all: Thanks for your kind replies! :-)

Really nice work, you'll have to show us the dread next !!

Yes Sir!! Dread is almost finished!

@mitchell93: Right, Damocles is not really playable with the codex. But I'll do them anyway ;-)

Edit: I might use the sternguard idea though, would give them a bit more impact.

Option no.2 would be to count the claw as a normal energy weapon. (but this would be kinda lame)

Quick Update:

Here's the dread, as promised.

I had a lot of problems with the weapon cases. I started with white, but it looked more and more

terrible the more i painted it. So I decided to redo it with metallics like the rest of the dread.

Highlights look a little sloppy, but I'll leave it that way since I already have enough of this model. ^^

Greetings,

Hi!

Thanks for all the nice replies again!

@Fortnight: The captain's base is a bought-one from a polish company (I live in Europe).

So not much technique there ;-)-

For painting it i used thin mixtures of white, ice blue and some grey.

@BrotherZaa: The captain is actually painted with metallics, except the banner. (I think banners should never have metallics on them)

I used a lot of thin washes to shade the metal. The more you do that, the more it looks similar to NMM.

I'm currently working on the vanguard. I wanted to buy the sternguard yesterday, which I wanted to do first, (and a pred) but my local shop didn't have them.

(Although I could have bought everything else there, obviously. bad luck.... :))

What colours did you use for your washes? Excellent work by the way.
