slah
Thanks for all the kind comments. @graypaint: I agree about the eyelevel comment, and the posing of the head in the pictures is only a quick mock-up, BUT it will be extremely difficult to make his eyes level to the horizon. It will have to be either level to horizon (or close to) and with the mouth almost closed, or maybe tilted even further backward and give the impression of a true hissy-fit. edit: and with regards to the underslung battle cannon that is also a very quick mock-up in order to get the angles correct. I plan to make a weapon mount much like the terminator reaper-cannon which should hopefully dispell all silly tau-association  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158481-defiler/page/2/#findComment-1886325 Share on other sites
slah
I finally got back to this guy, and have finished his head and attached it to the body - it only needs some details inside the mouth now. What do you think? http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii284/slah_photos/Games%20Workshop/40K/Chaos/defiler/IMG_1529.jpg http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii284/slah_photos/Games%20Workshop/40K/Chaos/defiler/IMG_1530.jpg http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii284/slah_photos/Games%20Workshop/40K/Chaos/defiler/IMG_1531.jpg http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii284/slah_photos/Games%20Workshop/40K/Chaos/defiler/IMG_1532.jpg http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii284/slah_photos/Games%20Workshop/40K/Chaos/defiler/IMG_1533.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158481-defiler/page/2/#findComment-1949537 Share on other sites
Vandael
Nice, Atm I'm working on a 2 legged Defiler as well and the modelling on this one looks great. I love the head, but IMO try to change the angle of the neck a bit. Right now it looks like he's just go a left-hook from another standing warmachine. (Would be a cool Diaorama btw) :tu: . I'll keep following this thread for insperation! Cheers, Vandael Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158481-defiler/page/2/#findComment-1949546 Share on other sites
slah
The head is tilted a lot, but that´s because I´m gonna model him swinging a very very heavy 2 handed powerhammer, and he´s figitnh against the inertia of the hammer. I´ve tried with placeholder arms, and he works a LOT better once they get on him ^_^ Speaking of the hammer: http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii284/slah_photos/Games%20Workshop/40K/Chaos/defiler/IMG_1534.jpg http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii284/slah_photos/Games%20Workshop/40K/Chaos/defiler/IMG_1535.jpg a size comparison - as you can see its gonna be huge. In fact it´s gonna be even bigger than this because I plan to add some extra to the end that´s still unfinished. http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii284/slah_photos/Games%20Workshop/40K/Chaos/defiler/IMG_1536.jpg And a very quick teaser of what I´m gonna bash together after the defiler: http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii284/slah_photos/Games%20Workshop/40K/Chaos/possessed%20rhino/IMG_1538.jpg http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii284/slah_photos/Games%20Workshop/40K/Chaos/possessed%20rhino/IMG_1537.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158481-defiler/page/2/#findComment-1952362 Share on other sites
Falhurk
Awesome job so far. It's mecha-cool. I'm not sure I see how the overly-large hammer is going to work out. Of course, I am eagerly anticipating it. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158481-defiler/page/2/#findComment-1952992 Share on other sites
