well, It was christmas and I got one more box of each stern and vanguards, didn't want to have duplicates in my army...

So I spend quite some time figuring what conversions can I do on the Sternguards

And here is Khan, coverted from combi-bolter sternguard model

Thanks for the comments,

the bits I used for Khan are:

sternguard with combi-bolter as body,

cloak and the sword are from Master of Ravenwing,

the book is from terminator libaririan,

backpack is a oop LOTD skull back pack, but the DA one will do the same job

and for the vanguards, axemen's arms are from Chaos Chosen (WFB), the huge sword is from Captian Stern of Grey Knight

Those all look great! Better than if you would have used all plastics. Like you said, Green Stuff needs to be smoothed. If you let it dry first, then using a knife, you can easily shave it down.

A lot of the things are hidden in the metal, like the sheathed sword on the first guy, but once its all painted, it should stick out nicely. Great work with that.

The use of metal bitz are astounding...besides the fact that you have majority of the Space Marine sets anywhoo...but combination is great! The chaplain, champion, and apothecary really look the part!

The two Vanguard with the big axes will really stand out, but will add depth into your army as well.

And no problem with the RM thing, but don't you think you could have thanked me in the SPC thread? =-D

Thanks shorts, great tip, it works wonder.

and what apoth do you mean?

Hmm..theres no apothecary...I guess I was talking about the Chaplain with the skull face and smite stick. =-D

The only thing is, is that his right shoulder looks flat..does he have a shoulder pad?

Yes he does, right shoulder pad is a skull shoulder pad as well.

I think many people has undermined the potential of metal models, IMO they are great to work with.
