Dark Disciple Posted January 24, 2009 Share Posted January 24, 2009 In order to motivate myself to actually complete an army for a change rather than getting side tracked by "good ideas" such as Iron Warriors, a loyalist Chapter on the edge of becoming slaves to Chaos or the personal retinue of a Psychic Nurgle Necromancer with a love for experementing. Ahem. . .I've decided to keep my Word Bearer helmet on and commit, so in the stylings of last years Call of Chaos. . . . I Dark Disciple in the name of the Dark Gods and the Prophet Lorgar hereby pledge my soul, my allegiance and that of my troops', to Chaos Eternal. I promise to paint (to completion) a force of Word Bearers including: 1 Chaos Lord 5 Chosen 10 Chaos Space Marines 1 Defiler And what ever else the Dark Council Commands - within the space of 2 months. I also promise to provide my fellow players with an update, at least once per month and to heed the Call of Chaos should it sound. Should I fail then may the Warp take me! Dark Disciple Posted January 24, 2009 Author Share Posted January 24, 2009 Ok now that I've gotten all the melodrama out of my system, if anyone wants to join in they should feel free. I apologise if I'm stepping on anyones toes as I know the Calls of Chaos are Brothers Nimhs sacred territory. I just really need some one to hound me into delivering ;) So right now I'm offshore but the plan when I get back is to complete what I started and get cracking with at least 1000 points. The basic idea behind the army is that they are a crusading sub faction within the Legion who have taken a vow. I know I know the Anti-Templar thing. Personally I blame Riddley Scott as everytime I watch Kingdom of heaven I think of Word Bearers but I digress. So heres the colour scheme I have in mind and when I get back I will start working on the Chaos Lord who I have partly built and the Chosen who are in various stages of building. Visually the army will use flames to purify the unbelievers, chains which represent the bonds of their oaths and each will have black hands to signify their vow to purge the unclean. Finally the plan is to mix in a few possessed peices here and there as they make use of Daemonic Infusions along the lines of the Exorcists in commununal rituals. Wish me luck! As you all know this thread began as my little attempt to get my butt in gear with a pledge to the community. I'm happy that so many of you decided to join in, its a testiment to the people of the board and I admit that I got a little swept away. Unfortunately this has conflicted with the plans of the good folks who make this place what it is. As the Angel Sanctus said in his Post Call of the Imperium Post earlier today the mods are planning bigger and better Calls for this year. As such I'd like to formally apology to the community (especially Brother Nihm) for getting in their way. I should have been more careful in my wording and more importantly I should have spoken with Brother Nihm as soon as the first person asked if they could join in. The last thing I wanted to do was endanger the Calls. I would however, like to make things right and ask that we change the focus of this thread from a 12 month vow to a 1 or 2 month vow in anticipation of Brother Nihm’s Call. Perhaps as a starting point for those who have just joined the cause and those of us who are returning to the flock. Or failing that even close this thread to allow a clean slate for the true call. Once again I extend my apologies to those who have posted here and the community as a whole and sincerely hope that Brother Nihm will still sound the true call. I also hope that when he does you will all pledge your souls to the Glory of Chaos. Only reason why either Call are currently on hold is due to the currently progressing LPC. Best to have one 'challenge' running at any given time, rather than cause unwanted overlap.
