Vash113
So I finally took some decent-ish pics of my new Captain model for my Ultramarines 5th Company. He could be seen in some of my previously posted pics of my whole army but I thought I might as well showcase the model individually, I'm rather pleased with how it came out. Won't be winning any Golden Daemons but I like it. Here he is: http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/IMG_0452-1.jpg http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/IMG_0453-1.jpg http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/IMG_0455-1.jpg Oh and as a bonus something Old Skool: http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/IMG_0456-1.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158579-captain-cato-galenus/ Share on other sites
sword brethren
its quite good well done, try and spend i little bit more time on details, or get a new brush because here and there the painting is a little but off, but overall a fantastic model well made ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158579-captain-cato-galenus/#findComment-1857256 Share on other sites

I look at some of my minis and marvel at me doing better than normal, then look at a picture, and revel in despair. *shrug* That's why I just love my minis for the time I've put into them, and the attempt thereof, even if my skill is lacking. That said, he looks great. Very...Ultramariney. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158579-captain-cato-galenus/#findComment-1861079 Share on other sites
Lord Mephiston
looks good though wouldn't his should pad rims be black, for the 5th company? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158579-captain-cato-galenus/#findComment-1861922 Share on other sites

Yes, but I really don't like the alternate trim colors, for the Ultramarines at least, the blue and gold looks best IMO, my whole 5th Company has gold trims, company is designated by the heraldry on the knee pad. The checkered white and black that's also on the Captains right shoulder pad. I actually have a fluff excuse, during Medusa V the Ultramarines forces included more than just the 2nd Company and the rest of the Ultramarines contingent repainted their pad trims gold so that their enemies would think Sicarius and his 2nd were everywhere and would be unable to tell whether they were facing a different force of Ultramarines and the Company has kept with the variant scheme for now. Sir Clausel
I like this guy. Allthough I must say that if you take a dark blue color and water it down a lot. Then try to paint it into the deeper areas. This will create some depth. Vash113
Here's some pics that don't make the blue look too bright and with some touch up work done: http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/IMG_0462-1.jpg http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/Vash113/IMG_0463-1.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158579-captain-cato-galenus/#findComment-1862074 Share on other sites
Captain Malachi
I like the freehand on the cloak, and is that ork blood on the end of his sword? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158579-captain-cato-galenus/#findComment-1862088 Share on other sites
Vash113
I like the freehand on the cloak, and is that ork blood on the end of his sword? No it's supposed to be the sword's power field. My Ultramarines used to have 5-6 different paint schemes for power weapons, so I ended up streamlining them with a sort of half covering purple field lookin scheme though yea I guess it does look like Ork blood somewhat. :cuss Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158579-captain-cato-galenus/#findComment-1864971 Share on other sites
