Thantoes
Here then are the 9 models that make up my sternguard. The LPC only required 7 but what the hell, the more the merrier. There is also a 10th guy to be finished and I will add him later. I was a little miffed as I was going through these photos as it seems there are a few filiments of flock on some of the figures. However since I had already put all my photography stuff away and since its not much I have decided to leave it in the pics. Anyways, on with the pics. Snozz
Those are some nice Marines. I like the highlights, they are sharp but not too sharp. The Sergeant is pretty cool, the white powerfist works really well. Well done on your vow. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158626-lpc-sternguard/#findComment-1857566 Share on other sites
AngryJohnny
The look really good. How did you make the combi-flamer? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158626-lpc-sternguard/#findComment-1857574 Share on other sites
Thantoes
I used Rindaris's tutorial for the combi-flamer body and stole Marius Perdo's idea to use a termi storm bolter mag. It came out really nicely I think. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158626-lpc-sternguard/#findComment-1857583 Share on other sites

Ompfris
Wow I like them - Really good I love the MK8 marine, to me he looks a bit like 'bored at work' - I just see him saying "there's one" <BANG> "there's one" <BANG> Really liking the Sargeants helmet too Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158626-lpc-sternguard/#findComment-1857622 Share on other sites
Thantoes
I just hope that they come out with a decent plastic combi-flamer at some stage. The one I made looks good but its VERY bulky, especially with the box magazine. The scope also doesnt help with the size but it does look much better with it than without it. I also cant stand the hanging scroll cases on his arm. However, since its a thin resin shoulder pad and it was stuck on there very strongly I didnt want to risk breaking it off after I decided I didnt like it. So there it will stay. Thantoes
Gah, was hoping to have the heavy flamer marine finished by now but I am just lacking the time. Should be done this weekend at the latest. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158626-lpc-sternguard/#findComment-1860175 Share on other sites
Thantoes
Hmmm, double post but seperated by a few days so not so bad. As promised, here are pics of the last member of my squad. The heavy flamer dude. (Thanks to angryjohnny for his tutorial on doing this) http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3406/3241767496_ea5156e788_b.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3262/3240934411_2ccf9a994f_b.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158626-lpc-sternguard/#findComment-1865379 Share on other sites
blood_raven_240
The Mk8 Veteran is the most impressive, IMO, but they all look good to me. There's just something about your highlighting that really sets them off... Care to share the method with us? AngryJohnny
@Thantoes I like your Sternguard. They are very well done. I especially like the quartered helmet and white power fist on the sergeant. Oh, and the Heavy Flamer too. @BrotherAtrox The Heavy Flamer is a Multi-Melta that has been fitted with the Heavy Flamer Nozzle from the Terminator Heavy Flamer. There's just something about your highlighting that really sets them off... Care to share the method with us? Its nothing special. I paint the armour with enchanted blue. I then use broad highlights on the armour plates with a mixture of enchanted blue and white. What the exact proportions are I dont know as I poured the blue and white into an empty pot till it looked right. Then comes the sharp edge highlight of SW grey. The guns are done with a base of mecharite red with a broad highlight of blood red. Thats all it is.
