That is a nice peice. The conversion work is seamless and the model looks great.

Why does the wax on the parchment look so...waxy?

I like the way the power plant is painted. Is it mithrill with a wash or boltgun with a wash?

Is your flesh tone a single color or a blend?

I saw the WIP and loved this mini, it looks production quality and was being really well painted... seeing it finished makes me wish I could paint this well, and as I said in your WIP thread, it's making me want to dig out my masters of the shapter and do something with them :). Can't wait to see what you do with a librarian.

James

Very nice, normally when I comment in these forums it's with constructive critism, but...... well there's just nothing wrong with it :tu:

Wait a minute, the join where his hand meets the helmet looks a little off. (Yes, that really is the only thing I can think of to criticize)

Thanks to everyone for the comments you've left, the good feedback is greatly appreciated.

Very nice job!!!

The Gold is ace, how do you paint it?

Also the bone-scheme on the Crux and the wings is awesome!

The gold is painted quite simply with nothing too exciting or risque about it.

Start with scorched brown, probably take a couple of thin coats to get an even covering

First metallic coat with tin bitz

Use brazen brass leaving tin bitz in the recesses and around rivets, might need a couple of coats again here

Highlight the edges and raised areas with shining gold

Mix a tiny bit of black in with some scorched brown and water it down like hell, use like a wash to pull the colours together and help with a bit of shading

Rehighlight the extreme edges with shining gold.

Hope that's helpful and it's pretty quick and easy to do.
