Ann'grath or Scabeiathrax?

Recommended Posts

Hi, in less than a month, I'll be getting either Ann'grath the unbound or Scabeiathrax the bloated (giant GUO or BT).

I have no idea which one, though.

Pro's and con's of the 2.

Scabby's Pro's:

1. Extremely hard to kill (10 wounds at T9!)

2. Good ranged attack and CC weapon

3. Very detailed model

4. Can be proxied for Ku'gath

5. Loads of Nurgling attacks

Con's:

1. Not really that epic compared to normal GUO models

2. Not many attacks (not including Nurglings)

I can't think of any more - post some if you can think of more.

Ann'grath's Pro's:

1. Great scare factor

2. Can potentially get unlimited attacks

3. Great survivability w/2+/4++ and T8 (though not as much wounds or T as Scabby)

4. Very fast

Con's:

1. Might be hard to assemble compared to Scabby

2. Costs a lot more money wise

3. Can be taken down by LC spamming

Also, I've already got a Bloodthirster model, but Ann'grath is just awesome!

I think Scabby would be funner to paint, but that's just my opinion.

So, what do you think?

Sorry about the double post, but it'll grasp your attention more.

This is what's in my army so far:

Bloodthirster

Herald of Khorne on Jugger

The Masque

Bloodcrusher

2 Beasts of Nurgle

10 Bloodletters

10 Plaguebearers

10 Horrors

Daemon Prince of Nurgle

Soul Grinder

1500 points.

I'm not gonna post upgrades or anything, this is just the gist of my army to help you decide.

I've used both in Apoc games, and I'll tell you that An'ggrath will make itself worth it each and every time. Superheavies a problem? Not when he pops out near it and kills it in a single round of combat. Little weenies blocking your path? Level them quick-style.

Ol' Scabby, while nasty, isn't nearly as powerful. Struggles to dink superheavies, but good for clearing out weak hordes with special powers.

I'd have to say scabby just cus he looks like allot of fun to paint, I can't really vote by rules, cus I like both, so comes down to looks and paintability, so yeah scabby

Sorry if I sound rude, but this is the first friendly, helpful comment I've seen you post - not saying you don't post friendly things, I just don't see them.

Thankyou for the comment, and I agree with you, Scabby does look more fun to paint :tu:

they are few and far between :P

I never thought I'd say this (nothing personal or anything), but I've taken a liking to you.

Also, as I said before, I'll be getting Scabeiathrax unless someone can persuade me otherwise.

Ain't it sad I can spell his name? :P
