Picture quality aside (they're roughly only 50k each!), this is the start of my Iron Hands Commander. I'm somewhat new to this forum, although i have been watching for some time and looking into other Iron Hands posts. Soon will come any GS work, and any other weapon variants / swappables. I'm not that great at painting, but I love to convert stuff as you can see. There will be more to come... Brother_Beork
I like the shape of the halberd, but some more detailing would be nice. Same goes for the bionics, they look a bit crude (nearly Orky) to me, but then I like to whine ;P Beork Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158780-iron-hands-commander-with-neodymium-rare-earth-magnets/#findComment-1859702 Share on other sites
Metallicop
The only think I think really could look "orky" is the bionic foot, but that's because it's not painted. Also, as I said the GS (or greenstuff) work is still to come, in which I will fill out the Relic blade and add some other details. Once everything is primed black, and the metals done. If there's any other suggestions for "non-orky" bionics im all ears  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158780-iron-hands-commander-with-neodymium-rare-earth-magnets/#findComment-1860146 Share on other sites
Bannus
I look forward to seeing the GS work - you have a great start there. I'm not sure about the backpack - as it still has too much of a Chaos feel about it. But I will wait to see how it looks when painted. Keep up the good work. jay79
That is really cool. Love all of the magnet work you've done. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158780-iron-hands-commander-with-neodymium-rare-earth-magnets/#findComment-1860296 Share on other sites
popfenton
Did you have something going over the wrist on his gun hand? Currently it makes that arm look to long and awkward. I would possibly try to find smaller magnets for that part. Also I do agree that the backpack currently doesn't work for me, but to each his own. All in all I really like where you are going with this and I think the end product will be a very nice model. lt.rasczak
Very nice work with the magnets. I like the halberd, especially the counter weight on the end, I think its attention to little details such as those that can really set a model apart. Keep up the good work, can't wait to see what else you can do with him. Also are your pictures flipped to a mirror image somehow, or do they sell left handed marine commanders in Canada? Metallicop
Thanks for your input everyone, and no it's not lego. The counterweight that lt.rasczak pointed out is from a Tau gun, and not only is it the counterweight, it is the energy source for the relic-blade-haliberd. All white plastic is Plasticard / plastic rod of the same soft material from the manufacturer "Evergreen Scale Models" Also, the pictures do seem to be flipped, you can thank cameriod.com for that  (I use my XBOX live camera to take pics usign that site online (cameroid.com), otherwise vista doesnt have drivers to use the cam as a camera only, only as webcam) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158780-iron-hands-commander-with-neodymium-rare-earth-magnets/#findComment-1861081 Share on other sites
