Blitzkrieg861
Hey guys I was wondering what the correct way was to play a couple things... With Gets Hot! weapons, if you roll a 1 to wound, are you still allowed a regular armor save? Or does it count as though you were hit with it, AP included? (ex, Space Marine shot with AP2 Plasmagun, rolls a 1 to hit, what happens?) With bikes in assaults, do I get the 1 Attack from the Biker, plus the 2 Attacks from the bike itself for a total of 3? I cant seem to find this in the rule book for some reason... Can you still use Bolter when you have a Relic Blade equipped? Thanks in advance guys Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158784-can-you-please-clarify-a-couple-rules-for-me/ Share on other sites
eyescrossed
This should be in the official rules section, but i'll answer it. Yes, AP doesn't affect Gets Hot! Read the rule, it says it allows armour saves. No, you don't get any additional attacks for being mounted on a bike - why would you think you do? Yes, you can use a bolter with a relic blade - there's no such thing as 2 handed weapons any more (well, there is, but it only makes you not able to get an extra attack from an additional weapon). Legatus
With bikes in assaults, do I get the 1 Attack from the Biker, plus the 2 Attacks from the bike itself for a total of 3? I cant seem to find this in the rule book for some reason... I am not sure where that comes from. Are you by chance misinterpreting the 'Space Marine Bike Squad' stats profile listing and taking the 'Attack Bike' stats as being the stats of the bikes? An 'Attack Bike' is a Bike with sidewagon with a second Marine in it. Bike squads can be accompanied by one attack bike, that's why they are listed there too. Bikes themself have no stats. You get the stats of Rider + Bike, which usually means it is the same profile the rider (in this case a Marine) would normally have, but with +1 Toughness from the bike. Blitzkrieg861
I was looking at the listing for Attack Bike... my bad. And I did read the rulebook, I must have missed that part about the Gets Hot! Praeger
As some of you might have noticed, a number of posts have been deleted. Keep it on topic or I WILL hand out warnings. Blitzkrieg861
Why didn't you just close the thread like I asked? I got the answers to the questions I wanted? By keeping it open you only encourage the type of posts you seem to not like. What was so wrong with my request to have it closed? HiveFleetEzekial
...or perhaps to add something later. Like further clarifications, if it seems other posters missed things. Such as: With Gets Hot! weapons, if you roll a 1 to wound It's not on the roll to wound, it's on the 'to hit' roll, that can possibly 'get hot!'. Too bad I missed what was going on here. You didn't miss much. Off-topic joking around was all.. Blitzkrieg861
Naw, it was nothing at all. Having run a message board before I can say it would've been easier to just post a message saying "knock it off, stay on topic" than to delete everything. I'm not going to pretend to even sort of understand what the mods and admins here think or why they do what they do. It's a little off the wall if you ask me, almost every other message board I've ever been too would allow a thread to be closed if the original topic/question had been resolved and the original poster had requested it. To the guy who quoted me where I wrote "roll a 1 to wound" It was like 2 or 3 AM when I wrote that and yes I do realize it is on a roll to hit. All the questions have been answered and my question would be, what possible purposeful conversation could be posted here regarding the original topic at this point? HiveFleetEzekial
Ahh, and see.. now you've extended the 'topic' range for your post. :) To answer... Typically, nothing. Most times it will just drift off into the aether of the web, never to be seen again till someone else come along and opens their own topic to ask the same thing. (happens alot when new people play and get on here to ask questions :) ) And while I'm sure you may realize it's the to hit roll and not the to wound roll. Any and all clarifications help, however minor they may be, to either the person who asked them or somebody else who may be wondering the same thing (so they don't get further confused). Blitzkrieg861
Word. I just wanted to clarify that a bit. My reading comprehension isn't that bad... I passed english in highschool hahaha. I was mainly asking for the sternguard I'm painting. They seemed like the best unit to shoot down my buddy's berzerkers. I'm having a hell of a time fighting them. But then again, he's like a 5-6 year Vet and I'm a 5-6 week n00bsauce Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158784-can-you-please-clarify-a-couple-rules-for-me/#findComment-1860433 Share on other sites
HiveFleetEzekial
Well, good luck squashing those heretic scum! Vet/newbie-ness (sorry, 'noob' should only be used for someone that tries to act like they know WTHeck they're doing http://www.ctrlaltdel-online.com/comic.php?d=20060823 ) doesn't matter. That he's been in the game so long, he's bound to slip up and remember some no longer used rule or tactic, and end up giving the win. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158784-can-you-please-clarify-a-couple-rules-for-me/#findComment-1860455 Share on other sites

It's up to the Mods and Admins how things are conducted around here my friend – not you. A thread is left open (as they should be unless trouble breaks out) as a matter of course. If you really don't like things around here then please go elsewhere and take the bad attitude with you. As Praeger said earlier, keep it on track. eyescrossed
I'm not one of the moderatii, but they leave threads open so people can add stuff (sometimes months after), moderators only close them if it's going hugely off topic, or if there'd be no point leaving it open (I think). EDIT: The berzerkers are going to attack first anyway, so power fists would be better. Blitzkrieg861
Powerfists eh? I need to get some bits man. I dont have anything. I bought most my army from someone, then AoBR and a Pred. So I have zero bits to make any guys like that. Maybe the GW by me still orders single sprues for people. I could use more heavy weapons too Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158784-can-you-please-clarify-a-couple-rules-for-me/#findComment-1860890 Share on other sites
