Growler67
Rumor update From the Warseer Rumors section, some interesting info from what appears to be an inside source. Some we had an idea about but some looks like confirmed specifics. Here's the text: "What I know... I have no idea if the SW codex will be out this year. I have not heard that it will, but then I have not heard that it won’t. I do know that some playtesting has certainly been done and is ongoing. Blood Claws are armed with BP&CCW, frag & krack and can take special weapons or PF/PWs. Furious Charge instead of berserker charge. Minimum squad size is 10 and they can go as high as 20. WS goes up to 4 but BS stays at 3. Grey Hunters are armed like Chaos marines (i.e. everything). No more True Grit, but Counter Charge stays for this unit; can take an assortment of special weapons or PF/PWs. Squad Leader is a wolf guard with options like a vet sergeant from CA Jump pack Blood Claws are a separate entry now. Wolf Guard are split into two squad types - terminators and power armour. All wolf scouts can infiltrate or come on from any table edge. Long Fangs stay as is as far as I know. Probably picking up a BP& CCW in addition to their big guns. Dreads and ven dreads go down to WS4, but Bjorn is back as a special character. I don’t know if they can be HQ. I wish I knew more." From a second source: "I've had confirmation of the Space Wolves as a full stand alone codex with a packed accessory sprue. The sprue apparently has a large number of conversion pieces packed in. Think the old SW sprue done to the standards and packing in of bits as the DA parts. The sprue is complete and ready to go, as is the scout speeder. Some people are mentioning a trial/final draft SW codex being available to a few trusted sources. Since the leaks on the last few codices it seems as if those people are being very cautious about letting slip the contents lest they never see another draft. Release date still isn't clear but looks good for 2009." ...and finally....... "1. A Full Space Wolf Codex will be released. 2. It may be in 2009 or early 2010 I don't yet know the exact date. 3. There will be a range of new models produced including IIRC a new Ragnar and plastic wolf scouts. Not sure about anything else yet." I know we knew or suspected some or even much of this. However, this is as close as we can expect short of any "official" leaks, announcements or releases from GW. Sorry to say that I will be keeping tabs and checking in from time to time, but having to wait until the Fall (realistically), I'll be pursuing other intrests and keeping 40K and my Wolves on a back burner. There are other aspects of my real life that need more attention and perhaps in the mean time I will have things better handled and organized so as to allow for more time and resources for 40K in the Summer leading up to the releasing of the hounds. JEFF4i
If this is legit, I'm loving it. There is a lot of housekeeping stuff that'll make lives easier, like BC Jump Pack squads, instead of equipping and whatnot. I also like Plastic Wolf Scouts, will make my old metal scouts even better! Bigger blood claw packs makes sense, though will really eliminate the Rhino option for 'em, mostly. Of course, this is all speculation and we won't know anything until we're looking at it, but I like what I'm seeing. Megalodon
This stuff is just a round up of the rumors in the giant thread over there; I'm BDJV over there and I compiled the list. They date back as far as April of last year, so most have been reported here already. We really need a pinned New Codex rumor thread, so we can have it all consolidated into one place. This way we don't have a new codex rumor thread every couple of weeks. Would probably be far more efficient to collapse all the recent ones and put it in a sticky, though I'm certain that won't stop everyone. Same old 'news' again and again and again. :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158877-the-latest-info/#findComment-1861194 Share on other sites

This way we don't have a new codex rumor thread every couple of weeks. I'm still a Blood Claw and it's more like every couple of days....but it would be nice to get a consolidated stickied thread, the problem is that people don't read or even look at those for the most part. As for the OP....would make me very very happy to see all that. Even if I have to wait till early 2010. Iron-Daemon Forge
Can't belive the "plastic" space wolves scout been miss out there. Brimstone on warseer been leave hint about these here & there. Grey Hunters are armed like Chaos marines (i.e. everything). No more True Grit, but Counter Charge stays for this unit; can take an assortment of special weapons or PF/PWs. Squad Leader is a wolf guard with options like a vet sergeant from CA I seen this one coming :P Now you will all know how happy chaos player will be with the might of a Bolter, then when assaulted still get pistol & CCW attack :D Lossing True Grit did not suprise me (think of the Death Guards, but as said your still getting a lot of attack & more so when assaulted :) ) As for codex Space Wolves, all I am going to say is.... it worth the wait for you lot, since you all waited since 3rd Ed days. The new codex is well worth the wait from the rules to the models. Not sure on the release though as right now the four codexies planned are Imperal Guards in 2nd May, after that it random between Space Wolves, Necrons & Dark Eldar. But again... weel worth the wait & model side of thing :D IP Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158877-the-latest-info/#findComment-1861498 Share on other sites
