eyescrossed
I thought of it, and I can't think of anything that would stop the daemon shooting attack "Boon of Mutation" turning a Hierophant into a spawn. Is there anything that would? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158904-hierophant/ Share on other sites

Nyyman
I don't see any problems either, as the spell (or whatever it is) doesn't insta-kill it, just turns it into Spawn. And according to my bad rolls at bad time, your single Herald would kill many Hierophants (at least when I roll the Toughness test :)) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158904-hierophant/#findComment-1861500 Share on other sites
eyescrossed
But CSM can't do it, because theirs is a Psychic power, whereas ours isn't. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158904-hierophant/#findComment-1861569 Share on other sites

Frosty the Pyro
You are right, by RAW it would work, however appocolypse is the realm of house rules, and I dont think anyone here is silly enouph to beleive that it SHOULD work. By Common sense I would classify it as "attack that kills on a failed characteristic test" and let it do d3 wounds instead (third paragraph of gargantuan creatures special rules), and frankly in appocolypse you should be using common sense, not rules lawyering. Captain Malachi
Or, for a really fun house rule, make it turn in to one of them giant spawn things ;) As you said, "realm of house rules" ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158904-hierophant/#findComment-1861783 Share on other sites
eyescrossed
and frankly in appocolypse you should be using common sense, not rules lawyering. Hey, did I ever say I'd do it? I'm not that stupid - of course I'd make a house rule, and frankly, on B&C you shouldn't assume, because assume makes an ass out of you and me. shrike22
Or, for a really fun house rule, make it turn in to one of them giant spawn things ;) As you said, "realm of house rules" :P I'd do something like that and have the same amount as rolled on the D3 make spawn but, if it takes it out in one go ie. lost all but 2 wounds to shooting and the like and then boon it you make a giant spawn. As it has been said "relm of house rules" Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/158904-hierophant/#findComment-1863630 Share on other sites
eyescrossed
I'd make a houserule that pavane and boon can't affect them - if CSM powers that do the exact same thing can't, it's not fair IMO. Captain Malachi
Daemons are the masters of magic :woot: But really this is a house rule, so do what you want. Does D3 wounds and creates D3 spawn (as bits of the hierophant fall off and mutate...) killmaimburn14
Yeah, I'm with eyes crossed - I'd just say it doesn't affect them. Anyway, fluff wise, spawn wouldn't be able to just "drop off" the hierophant. If chunks of flesh came off, they'd just mutate into dead blobs of Tyranid.
