eyescrossed
Strange topic title, but I need to know - and please don't give me page quotes or anything, just answer the question. Last game, my friend's unit of tactical marines wanted to shoot my chaos marines, and it was like this M=Marines, C=Chaos, T=Terrain (which blocks LoS), /=Open ground ///C C C C ///C C C C ////////TTTTT ////////TTTTT M M M M M M M M M M Now, the bolded marines can't see any marines to shoot, but my friend claims they can draw LoS through their own unit. And when it says "Draw LoS through your own unit", doesn't it mean a unit's own models won't block LoS to each other? So, would the bolded marines be able to shoot? Caleth
No they can't see they can't shoot, it just means that: ///C C C C ///C C C C ////////TTTTT ////////TTTTT M M M M M M M M M M The bolded aren't blocked by the italicised ones. Imagine the ones in front kneel to fire while the ones in back shoot over them, the guys that can see, just have a finger in their nose. :tu: That's what it means to draw line of sight through their unit. Unlike 4th ed where I belive that if one person saw you the unit saw you. Edit: clarity (Hopefully). JamesI
Assuming the terrain in question had no windows or other gaps that could allow LOS, the two marines asked about could not shoot at all. eyescrossed
I was right... Huh... I even said it meant they don't block each other. If they could do that, you could put one model on top of a building, the rest in the lower levels, and just measure LoS and range from him. It'b be very unfair with devastators. And the plunging fire cities of death thing. Thanks for the quick reply.
