djkest
So I was thinking about flesh hounds lead by Karnak. They are BEASTS and Karnak has improved WS, STR, and A characteristics... but also "move through cover". I was just thinking that you could potentially move 6", run D6", and charge 12", all the while moving through cover... potential 24" assault range, minimum 19". That will get you 1/2 way across the board many times! I was thinking it could be useful if you could drop them behind some terrain (non impassible), and then the next turn assault through the terrain, making them very difficult to shoot before combat. They aren't amazing in combat, but they would get the job done, if not win they would tie up a unit for a while, and be immune from being shot.... I think Karnak has rending too, which is a nice little boost. What say you, is a unit of say 6 hounds + Karnak a good choice, or a waste of points? eyescrossed
Karanak and Flesh Hounds are a good choice, but I wouldn't charge them through cover unless you want to attack last. Seahawk
He means landing behind cover, then going through it in the movement and shooting phases, then charging through the open. ==Me==
Karanak makes Flesh Hounds an extremely reliable speedy unit. They can go anywhere and catch just about anything. If you run Karanak, look into adding Fury of Khorne to the unit. More rending is always good. Captain Malachi
Take a bigger unit though, at least eight, six won't last long against anything even remotely good in CC, though if you're playing tau..... I agree with this, 6 isn't enough and Flesh Hounds aren't that expensive really so splurge on a few more doggies. I'd run with 10 counting the big dog. Thats 27 S5 and 4 S6 attacks on the charge, you don't have Power Weapons so you want numbers. This is exactly what I meant, thank you. Sounds like fun! I'll probably end up buying some of these dudes just for some fun times! I've been seeing lately how speed can really help too. Raptor1313
I agree that you need a heap of hounds, and Kar + another one with rending. Theyr'e fast, but not terribly killy, and if we lose? No Retreat wounds on a 5+ save, and that's harsh. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/159120-karnak/#findComment-1865938 Share on other sites
