ValourousHeart
When I was building up my SOB army (without much thought of what I would actually be using on the field - currently 4k+) I picked up enough Imigifer models to put one in each squad. As i have started playing my sisters more often now, i am usually using these models because they help identify the squads. But as i am typically using a mech list of 1k to 1.5k I have not paid for the Imigifier option in lieu of more sisters or weapon upgrades. Now i am wanting to pull out more of my forces and play larger games, and so the i come to the question of the usefulness of the imagifier. is this upgrade ever worth the points? is there a time that these points are a must have? at what point level should i consider adding these? jeffersonian000
Personally, I don't use them. The free Imagifier effect for upgrading a Seraphim Superior to a Veteran is worth the points, no where else can I see spending 20pts as being worth it. Of course, my goal is to field a lot of sisters in as many tanks as I can for any given point total; I like that style of army build. Mosk
Only at large levels would I even consider the points. As Jeffersonian said, the seraphim upgrade is the only one that is really great. Also try doing a search of the forums, as I and many other people have already posted stuff concerning imagifiers. BLARGAG!!!
I actually find it quite helpful to run one in the celestian squad w/ my cannoness in it. just that little extra umph to get the faith powers off is a huge boon most of the time (for me at least) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/159197-are-imagifiers-worth-the-points/#findComment-1866265 Share on other sites
WarriorFish
They're too expensive to ever be a "general issue" thing, but as BLARGAG said they can be very useful in certain units where Faith matters. As such it really depends on what units you take and how you plan to use them, so the decision can only be yours! As was mentioned, a Celestian unit (especially a retinue one) that's going to get stuck in will benefit, and maybe a large SoB squad too. Maybe a Retributor squad that you'd really like some AP1 shots with? In the right place I'm sure you'll be pleased with them :ermm: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/159197-are-imagifiers-worth-the-points/#findComment-1866842 Share on other sites

The only time I ever field one is with the celestians and the seraphim. ValourousHeart
So general thought is that the upgrade is to pricey in the basic sister squads. But a must have in seraphim squads. As an upgrade to celestine squads or canoness ret that I am planning to get a lot of CC time, this is a good option. Otherwise as filler points for a larger army, maybe, but max the squad size first. That is what I figured the answer would be. Now the big what if question. If GW made the troops faithful all the time like seraphims and included this as part of the vet upgrade, would you take the upgrade? Melissia
eh? It's nto a must-have in seraphim squads. It's free along with the veteran superior. You just get it naturally because you want a veteran superior in your Searphim anyway. tilindir
I see only 2 really useful choices for taking imagifers: 1) to act invul on 10-sized sob squads 2) to act DG surely on large 4-HB retributors. Melissia
If by "act invul" you mean Spirit of the Martyr, getting 11 or 12 is not exactly THAT much easier with 3d6 choose the best two. You're still going to waste it more likely than not. ValourousHeart
Melissia, I do understand that the Imag effect is free with the Vet Sera upgrade. What I meant was that taking a vet in a sera squad is a best practice and therefore I should always take it (and get the Imag effect for free).
