Tiger Tail?

I recently showed this guy in a reply on another thread, there seemed to be some interest so thought I'd give him his own!

I would like to ask for your opinion on something.

I am going to painting him up as a tiger, but am unsure whether or not a tail would work?

Not an actual tail but a loin cloth that could resemble one.

See what you think.

I like it! An excellent conversion... Kinda reminds me of the main Character in one of my stories over on the Liber Comminiscor...

Shameless self promotion, sorry...

In any case, the loincloth tail works. I like it. Be sure to update when you paint it!

Before anyone asks, I have a younger brother who watched the show, I never did.

Is this tiger tail thing in any way inspired by the one gadget whateveritis from Shaolin Showdown?

:D Ha Ha Ha you mean the shen gong wu - "serpents tail" (that show is cool)

Hi Brothers. I am unsure if any of you out there remember this thread.

Actually checking the dates was about 2 years ago, lol

Anywho....real life and depression got the better of me, but recently I've had a hankering to get

some painting done.

Plus my models keep looking at me and saying "ya gonna leave us like this???"

So I have been and bought a set of GW brushes and am resurecting this guy.

I hope to finally get this finished with the encouragement of the people that have given me much insperation.

thanks for the quick reply Konskrypt.

i'm definitely stealing that claw idea, but i think i'm gonna use chaos combat knives for the blades, simple but spectacular conversion in my humble opinion :P

That Human-Thing has stolen our Sword-Claws! Kill-Kill!!!

Sorry, been reading too much Skaven. Anyway, very nice model. I'm not too keen on the Face, I would Prefer this one from Forge World, Though that's just my personal preference. And of course that would be costly

Will you be painting stripes on him?

The orange qualifies you for Cult of Orange status.

Your scheme reminds me of the Iron Cranes in terms of the color layout:

http://www.duckblindminiatures.com/images/ironcrane/iclib1-1.jpg

but I would suggest thinning your paints. Your white is a bit thick and swallowing up some of the detail on the mini, such as the rivets on the chest plate in this pic: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads...4_670_55652.jpg

I do my white with thin layers like so:

GW Space Wolf Grey

GW Ghost Grey

2 parts Ghost Grey/1 part GW Skull White

1 part Ghost Grey/1 part Skull White

1 part Ghost Grey/2 parts Skull White

I think Vallejo does the Ghost Grey equivalent these days.

Looks like you have your own layered recipe going, just need to thin the paints down and build up. Much easier to add thin layers than go back and remove layer(s) that are too thick.
