konskrypt
I recently showed this guy in a reply on another thread, there seemed to be some interest so thought I'd give him his own! I would like to ask for your opinion on something. I am going to painting him up as a tiger, but am unsure whether or not a tail would work? Not an actual tail but a loin cloth that could resemble one. See what you think. Ideas and crits very welcome Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/159242-tiger-tail/ Share on other sites
War Angel
its too long, if he where to try and step backwords to dodge an attack, he would trip over it. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/159242-tiger-tail/#findComment-1866357 Share on other sites

im terrible at painting
Good but a bit odd, (wat chappter is he going to be) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/159242-tiger-tail/#findComment-1866384 Share on other sites
War Angel
the tail is a good idea, I would think it would be more practical if it was shorter, and if it where shorter, it would be raised up a bit because its not being weighted down by the end of it. konskrypt
You do raise a good point WA. How much shorter do you think? Â @ I'm terrible it's a display piece, that I'm doing as a tiger Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/159242-tiger-tail/#findComment-1866392 Share on other sites
War Angel
id say about half length, just before his boots. Then raise it up any where between, say 75' to 100' the shorter the higher. and the faster he goes the higher, So however fast you want to show him going. Brother Captain Andrecus
I like it! An excellent conversion... Kinda reminds me of the main Character in one of my stories over on the Liber Comminiscor... Â http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...howtopic=157449 Â Shameless self promotion, sorry... Â In any case, the loincloth tail works. I like it. Be sure to update when you paint it! konskrypt
Hi Brothers. I am unsure if any of you out there remember this thread. Actually checking the dates was about 2 years ago, lol Anywho....real life and depression got the better of me, but recently I've had a hankering to get some painting done. Plus my models keep looking at me and saying "ya gonna leave us like this???" Â So I have been and bought a set of GW brushes and am resurecting this guy. Â I hope to finally get this finished with the encouragement of the people that have given me much insperation. Wicced
i'm not sure about the tail idea, but i think it would look ace with a tiger paintjob :ta: Â where are his claws from? konskrypt
Tbh I have cancelled the tail idea. The claws are cut from a LC, the handles are just some plasticard stuck to his hands with some sprue at the top or bottom. The paint job is on the way lol Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/159242-tiger-tail/#findComment-2656531 Share on other sites
Wicced
thanks for the quick reply Konskrypt. i'm definitely stealing that claw idea, but i think i'm gonna use chaos combat knives for the blades, simple but spectacular conversion in my humble opinion :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/159242-tiger-tail/#findComment-2656534 Share on other sites

Zincite
That Human-Thing has stolen our Sword-Claws! Kill-Kill!!! Â Sorry, been reading too much Skaven. Anyway, very nice model. I'm not too keen on the Face, I would Prefer this one from Forge World, Though that's just my personal preference. And of course that would be costly  Â Will you be painting stripes on him? Kurgan the Lurker
The orange qualifies you for Cult of Orange status.  Your scheme reminds me of the Iron Cranes in terms of the color layout: http://www.duckblindminiatures.com/images/ironcrane/iclib1-1.jpg  but I would suggest thinning your paints. Your white is a bit thick and swallowing up some of the detail on the mini, such as the rivets on the chest plate in this pic: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads...4_670_55652.jpg  I do my white with thin layers like so: GW Space Wolf Grey GW Ghost Grey 2 parts Ghost Grey/1 part GW Skull White 1 part Ghost Grey/1 part Skull White 1 part Ghost Grey/2 parts Skull White  I think Vallejo does the Ghost Grey equivalent these days.  Looks like you have your own layered recipe going, just need to thin the paints down and build up. Much easier to add thin layers than go back and remove layer(s) that are too thick. konskrypt
Thanks for the feedback Kurgan. Your right I haven't yet got the hang of thinning properly. but isn't everything a learning curve lol. The fact that I qualify for a Cult is also very awesome lol Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/159242-tiger-tail/#findComment-2676143 Share on other sites
