The first ones are painted in the standard 'eavy metal colours but then i thought if these chaps are 10,000 years old then their armour should like a bit more arcane/ancient. The dudes with purple robes are my second attempt and the ones i'm most happy with. It's a shame i didn't stumble across this look sooner. If I had to guess; I would say you painted them ice blue and them just dipped them in blue ink (if there is any)? No matter what you did they are still awesome. The layers go as follows: Midnight blue as base colour Regal blue Enchanted blue/Ice blue (50/50) Ice blue highlight. Regarding close combat weapons? I wanted to stay away from the standard bronze look and go for something a bit brighter without necassarily being aligned with Tzeentch. I thought i'd catalogue my work a little better so images now show squads instead of a mass of men. The color scheme is totally different than your reagular army. I think that you should do the purple and maybe highlight with blue? Its up to you. Just some suggestions. Regarding the Raptors, i like the fluff where they never really bond with the rest of the warband to hype up their own reputation of being cavalier warriors in constant competition with everyone else. For this i wanted to ally them with Tzeentch but not necessarily the 1K Sons. I then had to pick of a colour that tied in with Tzeentch but not that of the Thousand Sons. For this i chose the flame-like oranges and reds. It also gives the impression that when they charge they do so out of the sun. I did toy with the idea of creating an assault squad on discs of Tzeentch but we'll see if i get round to it. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
