XI Legion's stuff

Got my brother to start posting here as XI Legion, his camera and lighting stinks so I thought I'd get some good pics of his stuff for comments.

 

These were his table standard stuff that he used for gamesday, I think he's still working on them a bit, he was very rushed to make the deadline and had two weeks to do 30 terminators or something to that effect. I'm sure he'll comment when he sees them. He posted a salamandars log in the tutorials which hopefully the Mods will move over to the WIP forum. You'll have to excuse him he's 'tarded and wears a helmet j/k :cuss

 

I always tell him "your stuff looks good, if by good I mean crap". That's because I'm a mean older brother who has to follow the unwritten code of older brothers which demands I beat him down with insults at every turn :cuss I think they look quite good and I particuarly like his conversion on Baliel. The base model was of course lysander but he came out looking like he'd been sculpted for the dark angels all along.

As for the Terminators the Chaplain is great, the hammer is excellent. Very menacing. The Terminators are good, but the helmets look a little off with the white on the orange undercoat. But I like them.

 

As said, you may want to get rid of the IG and Kroot. PA only.

I'll take down the kroot and guard guy as soon as he gets a chance to save the pics.

 

You can't see it in these pics but the front plate of the thunderhammer has a DA icon on it, we joke about it calling it the baliel stamp, everytime he hits a guy in the face with it they are forever branded with a DA stamp.

So as said i cant leave this post alone, I have to make some comments due to the fact these are my painted models.

 

The Chaplain was painted some time ago, he was the first model that i 'tested' doing lava style base out on, and think it came out very nicely thus I decided to use that basing for my terminator unit which eventually spawned its own paint pattern to accompany the cool basing. The Baliel model was actually quickly pieced together for Adepticon last year, i was running as indidcated a DA Deathwing list, he was my sub. Some of the conversion work that went into him (besides the base): filling down the various imperial fists symbology, and replaced by DA symbols. Small wings on torso, the whole sheild was dremeled down and then i took sprue bits from DA rhino upgrade and applied heat to warp it to conform to the surface of the shield. Purity seals were then added as filler on right lower leg and shield for more details. Following that, the DA STAMPER was cobelled together from more vehicle sprue bits including the radar dish reciever, and a large DA symbol cut down and to fit. All in all it worked out rather nicely.

 

Unfortunately the Terminator that my brother took a picture of is one of the 'rushed' line troops where i attempted to paint the whole army in roughly 2 weeks, this is an example of one of the far from unfinished minis. All three minis in fact appear much brighter due to the lighting then they seem to in real life. Although he contends my photographs of minis suck I will attempt to document these minis in other lighting and let you all judge for yourself.
