daboarder
so basically i said madtroll had inspired me with his idea's and that i was gonna open my own thread about it well here it is. basically this is what my take on a sororitas unit based on heavy armoument would be like. i hesitate to use the idea os sob terminators to describe them as i hope they will function differently. anyway heres the unit description so far, please not i will update as i refine the idea and will also hopefully post pictures as i make my prototypes. SPS: the sororitas purification squads are a rare sight on the battlefield this is due to the uniqueness of the armour that protects them in the fires of war. based or stc that is believed to have been the precursor to both marine power armour and the heavy TDA Purification armour offers the wearer similar protection to TDA however because it lacks the powerfull exskeleton and nevous system implants that accompany TDA the armour does not provide the same style of powered mobility. because the suits are so rare it is speculated that only a handful exist in the entire gallaxy and the soroitas will only entrust a suit to a sister who has shown unquestionable faith in the emperor. this and the extended training required to use SPA is believed to be the reason why the sisters who are permitted to wear the hallowed armour are considered aloof and fanatical even by their own brethren, they are often seen striding in to battle with hymms to the emperor upon their lips to condemn the unfaithful to hell. a single sororitas purification squad maybe be included in a witch hunters army regardless of the number of FOC or presence of apoc. stats: celestian: ws/4 bs/4 s/3 t/3 w/1 i/4 a/1 ld/8 sv/2+/5+ veteran sister superior: ws/4 bs/4 s/3 t/3 w/1 i/4 a/2 ld/9 sv/2+/5+ unit: a unit consists of one VSS armed with a blessed weapon(doesnt count towards total) and 4 celestians in SPA cost: 220pts all have frag and krak grenades they are equiped with underslung flamers and power weapons the 4 celestian and the VSS may choos one of the following: meltagun:5pts the 4 celestian may also choose one of the following: eviserator:15pts characters: the VSS has acess to the witch hunter armoury and as long as she is alive the squad counts as being equiped with a simalucrm imperialas. one celestian in the squad may carry either sacred standard:20pts sacred banner of the order millitant:50pts special rules: faithful above all: so faithfull are the sisters of these squads they generate 2 faith points for the army pool and always count as a faithful unit. holy hatred: drawn most commonly from the ranks of the celestians these sororitas have lost none of their holy fervour and benefit from holy hatred as listed in the celestian entry. aspect of vengece: those who are unfortunate enough to face these sororitas on the battlefield are awestruck by the majesty of the emperors vengence made flesh therefor all enemy units within 6" of an SPS are at 1- ld the squad may be mounted in an imolator for 65 pts but must take the following upgrades: holy icon:10pts NB: an adeptus sororitas heroine may be equiped with SPA for +20 pts this also allows her to choose 2 2handed weapons from the armoury ps:i will be playtesting this squad as well as reading further input and will modify the points and rules as neccasry. edit: added initative and rolled the cost of mandatory falmer and power weapon into unit cost and corrected the cost of the other upgrades to take this into acount edit2:removed one attack and one point of leadership from their profiles due to the reasons stated by madtroll Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/159782-sororita-purification-squad/ Share on other sites
jeffersonian000
If the they must choose power weapons at +10pts each or Eviscerators at +20pts each, why not just roll the cost of the power weapons into their unit cost, and have the eviscerator as a +10pt upgrade? madtroll
it looks cool man. It is essentially renamed TDA. To me it doesn't *feel* sister of battle. When I was contemplating giving sisters TDA I left the extra attack out, that's for space marines and normal humans shouldn't get it. Of course basing what they should or shouldn't get by what I *feel* is an abstract thing. Who am I to judge? With that being said, a couple critiques: these are all my opinion only, I am the last one to tell you what you can or can't do As said above I don't think they should have so many attacks. Celestians, Seraphim, and even repentia all only have one attack each, two for the vet. Is the armor giving them an extra attack or are they just bad-asses? If it's not the armor then they are essentially a squad full of palatines. Their Ld is too high. Your basic girl has the same LD as a Palatine and the vet has the same as a Canoness. I would make them LD8 and make the vet LD9 with a Book of St. Lucias. It is a very powerful item in 5th edition and LD10 should not be given out so freely. Faith points. I'll bring up the Palatine again. This squad adds more faith than the Palatine and the same as a Canoness. Should only be one point for the squad. My opinion of course. A Palatine or Canoness should be the Mama San of the army, the baddest girl there. Holy Weapons. I don't think they should get one. I imagine a holy weapon as a super rare artifact that only the most senior Canoness would be carrying. With this squad, a canoness/palatine, and St. Celestine your army could have 3 holy weapons in it. Maybe your thinking of space marine honor guards though, they can give a relic blade to every guy in the squad. I don't know. It's up to you but I personally can't see it. immolator. I'm not sure how you picture this armor but stats wise it makes me think of TDA and it's way too bulky to be getting in an immolator. Maybe it's more artificer armor with an artifact or something giving the invulnerable save. I like that you limited this squad to one in your army no matter how big. Cool idea and I think I might use it for mine. daboarder
hmm... good point there all round what i was shooting for was a sorta lighter version of TDA that doesnt have the exoskeleton therefore they cant move and fire heavy weapons but could fit into a transport. i may even play with the idea of removing or downgrading the invulnerable save to help represent this. anyone who has a way of representing plexxible armour that provided almost the sam protection as TDA without the teleport systems and move and fire heavy weapons please feel free to suggest it. i aggree with you on the attacks and ld as your right it was unintentional but they did sorta come up as terminator palatines whic isnt what i was aiming for but i thikn ill keep the extra faith point in their as their meant to be fanatical even buy a palatine or canoness' point of veiw. as for the blessed weapon i figured that each suit of armour is meant to be even more rare than a single blessed weapon and anyone trusted enough to lead such a squad probably already had acess to such a weapon. and yes the retinue aspect also played a part in it as such a veteran would be a symbol of the order almost as great as the plaltine or canoness herself. madtroll
sounds like just regular 'ole artificer is what you need. And artificer armor is supposed to be really rare, so would work i think.
